Jagalchi Fish Market: After hearing so much about Busan’s famous Jagalchi Fish Market, I was eager to check it out for myself. The indoor market is filled with all types of seafood and allows for excellent people watching as many of the vendors are older women who have no issue skinning live eels, while also hustling you for your business. It’s terrifying and awesome. With its huge tanks of flounder, crabs, octopus, you name it, Jagalchi serves as a major wholesale market for vendors across Busan. However, the market is also a tourist attraction with plenty of dining options. You can pick from one of the many eateries in the food court upstairs to enjoy some fresh and delicious cuisine, or you can purchase your own fish and have it prepared for a small fee. Brendan and I figured we’d leave it to the experts and grabbed a seat with a great view of the harbor. As our Korean is still limited, we relied on menus with pictures to help us pick our poison. We decided on octopus this time, but next time I’m going whole hog -- sashimi or bust!Â
