The Sarangani Coffee Industry Development Council through Inag Farmers Association Inc. and USAID Safe Water, in collaboration with ACDI/VOCA–PhilCAFE Project conducted a two-day (November 8-9) Trainings of Trainers (ToT) on "Proper Harvesting, Post Harvest Handling and Processing" for coffee mentors in Eastern Sarangani Watershed areas (or the 2nd district of Sarangani) at Barangay Lower Mainit, Malungon, Sarangani Province. It is the continuation of (ToT) coffee trainings that started last month. It aimed to train coffee farmers on good agricultural practices to produce better yield and quality coffee beans that can help increase their income. This was also intended to improve the water resources in watershed areas while encouraging participants to become coffee mentors in their respective communities. ACDI/VOCA Training & Logistics Officer Maria Jean Alexia Barredo was their resource speaker for the said training. Members of GenSan Coffee Association also participated in the said event. They shared their knowledge on coffee and assured the coffee mentors/farmers about the market for their crop. The region's Robusta Q Grader Arnel Cadeliña graced on the said training and shared his expertise particularly on Robusta coffee variety.
