Situated at the intersection of Yunghe Village, Sanwan Township and Toufen, this reservoir was built in 1980 featuring automatic overflow side channel spillway gates as the first of its kind in Taiwan having no water gates and sluice gates. At 89.5 meters in height, it offers a magnificent view from atop.

The vicinity around Yonghe Mountain Reservoir of Sanwan and Tongjing Village is a popular route for Tung flower appreciation. When the Tung flower is at its fullest bloom, the fascinating view of lushly grown mountains covered in white is reflected on the bluish green water of the reservoir, offering a spectacular sight. No stretch of this trail is of high level of difficulty and is therefore suited for the entire family to hike on.

Its main entrance is next to a farm by the large pond of Tongjing Village. Lively sculptures of mantises, dragonflies and butterflies can be seen on the wall of the entrance, passionately welcoming visitors. The scenery of ponds and grasslands, cozy pond-surrounding wooden paths, and beautiful Tong blossom forest are all part of this poetic Tongjing Forest Trail. This 1500-meter trail is worth visiting to relax your mind and enjoy beautiful natural sceneries.
