Today, 2nd of August, we celebrate 3 Saints:
Our Lady of the Angels
A peasant woman goes out to wash clothes by a river in Cartago and ends up finding the image that today is the patroness of an entire country. That is how quietly Our Lady of the Angels likes to work.
Invoked for protection, family unity and peace at home.
Did you know that since 1635, that small image found by Juana Pereira turned Cartago into one of the biggest pilgrimage centers in Central America. Nobody planned that, it just happened.
Prayer: Our Lady of the Angels, Queen and Lady of heaven, cover my family with your mantle, guide my steps and fill every corner of my home with peace. Amen.
Saint Peter Julian Eymard
There was a French priest so in love with the Eucharist that he founded an entire congregation just for that. No half measures, Saint Peter Julian Eymard went all in.
Invoked to strengthen faith and love for the Eucharist.
Did you know he summed up his whole life in one line, that the loss of faith comes from the loss of love. Simple, direct, and still true centuries later.
Prayer: Saint Peter Julian Eymard, teach me to love Jesus in the Eucharist the way you did, with total surrender and a burning heart. Amen.
Saint Eusebius of Vercelli
They exiled him for defending what he believed, and instead of giving up, he waited seven years and went right back to preaching as if nothing had happened. Saint Eusebius of Vercelli did not know how to quit.
Invoked for strength in faith and courage in hardship.
Did you know Emperor Constantius kept moving him from exile to exile thinking it would silence him, yet Eusebius came home to Vercelli with the same faith intact.
Prayer: Saint Eusebius, you who defended the faith without fear, give me the strength to hold on to my beliefs even in difficult times. Amen.
Thanks for sharing and following!
