Scenes From My Walk - Say’s Phoebe In Front Of The Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Behind The Santa Fe Parks & Recreation Building & Flagpole I had a prolonged encounter with 2 of these interesting birds. They feed of off insects and I watched it in action multiple times. It would get on a post, fence and even a cactus. It would then swoop down to either catch some insect in midair or off the ground. It then immediately returned to a perch to start the process all over again.
