Named after his deceased uncle, Sandshade. Had a small crush on Raggedburn when they were both kits, but became upset with her as they got older over a small disagreement. He took steps to put distance between them, and rejected Raggedburn in order to pursue Raggedburn's brother, Pearlpool. But when Pearlpool was summoned by Starclan, Sandstripe was left to reflect on his feelings. After some time, he came to appreciate how much comfort Raggedburn had always brought him. He was also embarrassed to admit that Pearlpool's death must have been infinitely more painful for Raggedburn than it had been for him. The more perspective he gained on the situation, the more embarrassed he felt for his narrowminded and shallow attitude. Sandstripe wanted to reconnect with Raggedburn, but he lacked the confidence to do anything more than cover himself in the shecats favorite herbs. Eventually, after nearly a year of distance between them, Sandstripe took the opportunity to brazenly flirt with Raggedburn during a patrol. To his great frustration, Raggedburn's responses were merely polite and casually friendly. However, they did prompt Raggedburn to approach him to finally bring up the state of their relationship. Sandstripe was too infuriated to do anything but declare that the two of them should be mates, and he counted himself lucky that Raggedburn enthusiastically agreed. Was left traumatized after his sister, Loudstripe, sacrificed herself to save him from a rogue ambush. His hatred for rogues would only grow stronger after Raggedburn was also killed by rogues. After these experiences, Sandstripe dedicated himself to his role as a warrior. He took pride in maintaining high standards for himself and his clanmates, and was always the first to remind cats of the dangers that awaited them outside camp. Although he had several suitors, he rejected them all and was content to wait for the day that he would join Raggedburn in Starclan. After many years of a quiet, and somewhat lonely, life in Marineclan, a heart attack finally reunited him with Raggedburn.
