You donât have to be afraid
Sandor Clegane x Reader
You sat in his room on a balcony, watching Kingâs Landing below, listening to the different sounds, bored out of your mind. Gods his room was dull and bare, you knew Sandor was not a man to decorate his room as such, but would a table really hurt that much? He barely had any furniture, only a chest, a bed far too small for him, and of course the chair you sat on, and some different things to place weapons on and armor.
You tried taking a deep breath but only caught the scent that was unique to Kingâs Landing. It was more of a smell, really, and not a scent. You coughed slightly at the smell, frowning and going back inside. Just as you entered from the balcony the door swung open, and you nearly jumped out of your skin at how sudden it was. Sandor stormed in, mumbling and grumbling, and he sounded angry, and spooked. A string of curse words spilled from his mouth, you could barely make anything out except âfuckinâ brat. Boy king should be glad I didnât split him in halfâ he continued to grumble as he removed his armor, he had yet to notice you.
âYou should be careful with your words, Hound, you never know who might lurk around the cornerâ you spoke calmly, watching amused as he quickly turned around with wide eyes, looking like a deer who just spotted a hunter. He relaxed once he saw it was you, taking only a few steps across the room, reaching you and pulling you in for a rough kiss, and you happily kissed him back. His hands rested on your hips holding them tightly, so tight that anyone would think it would leave bruises, but Sandor had always been gentle with you, in his own way, no matter how rough he could be with you, you never received a single bruise, there were always an underlying tenderness with his movements and gestures, love even, in how he treated you. Despite how rough he could seem, he was always sweet with you, he just showed it in different ways.
Once he withdrew you gasped slightly, lacking breath just a tiny bit âwhat was that for?â you chuckled, your hands resting on his chest plate, which he had yet to remove, feeling the details of his armor, all the small bumps and dents, scratches and small cuts in the metal from swords that had tried to take him away from you, but the armor stopping them, and for that, you were thankful.
âWhatâre you doing here dove?â Sandor grumbled, ignoring your question. You simply shrugged while smirking up at him âI missed youâ you were about to add something else when you noticed something, something in his eyes âwhat? What is it?â you frowned, trying to cup his burnt cheek but he moved away from you, letting go of you and stepping back. You almost fell due to you leaning on him from before.
âNo idea what youâre talking âbout, girlâ he gruffed out as he continued to remove his armor, as he had done before you had revealed yourself, his back turned to you. âDonât you dare lie to me, and donât call me that, Sandorâ you kept your voice calm, you knew something was wrong and yelling wouldnât make it better. You calmly walked up to him, wrapping your arms around his large frame, placing your hands over his chest, feeling his heartbeat go much much faster than normal.
âYouâre afraidâ you stated as a matter of fact, and moved away as he turned around to face you, his whole body tense, and he was about to open his mouth, probably to deny it, when you beat him to it. âWhat did he do?... Was it flames this time? Again?â you frowned when you were met by silence, knowing you were right. But this was Sandor, he wasnât going to admit to his fears just like that, so he tried to intimidate you âI ainât afraidâ he growled at you, towering over you, trying to scare you off, but you just smiled up at him. He tried to push you away but you just gently cupped his cheeks in your hands, and he instantly relaxed into your touch, as he always did.
âYou donât have to be afraid, Sandor. Of Joffrey, of your brother, or of meâ he scoffed at that, looking away until you forced him to look back at you âI will never leave, Sandor, ever. I donât care about how you look, or how you act around others, you are a good man underneath, you are my good manâ you gently stroked his cheeks with your thumbs, and despite his cold facade, you saw the start of a few tears in his eyes. âI donât care. I am yours, and you are mine, always. Fuck the king, fuck the people, fuck the kingsguard, and fuck Kingâs Landing, nothing matter except you and I. you gave him a soft smile, causing a tiny smile to spread across his face.
He leaned down and you half prepared for another rough kiss, but instead he rested his forehead on your shoulder, his arms easily trapping you against him. âIâm a bad influence on you, dove, you curse like a fucking sailorâ he mumbled against your neck, making you chuckle as you felt him smirk against your skin âmaybe itâs the company I keepâ you said teasingly âperhaps I should be a proper lady, and go back to sewing and singing and dancing with all the other noblesâ he lifted his head from your shoulder at your words âmaybe Iâll even find myself a fat, boring lord to marry, maybe I shoul-â
âFuck that, youâre mine, dove, and Iâd be damned if Iâd let you marry some boring, perfumed, high Lord of some stupid castleâ he growled, holding onto your hips once again, and you couldnât help but blush a bit at his words. You pretended to think about it for a second before shrugging âthen I guess youâre stuck with me, Sandor Clegane, for I would rather die than be anything but (Y/N) Clegane, your ladyâ he chuckled low at your words, giving your forehead a peck before kissing you gently this time.Â
His kiss said everything, you were his, and he were yours, to the end of time.
The Flayer of Winterfell
Ch. 15 Favors Owed
Another horrific dream wakes Sandor in the middle of the night and eventually leads to a memory of Sansa from years ago. Tyrion Lannister insists on meeting with the Hound face to face and pass along files that were uncovered in the basement. The Imp seems to find pleasure by tormenting Sandor with a rumor concerning his dead brother. Later, while trying to get the Hells out of Kings Landing, the detective is handed off a note to call someone close to him...
Cleganebowl. âRemember me? Yeah, you do. Youâre even f***ing uglier than I am now. What did they do to you? It doesnât matter. Thatâs not how it ends for you, brother. You know whoâs coming for you. Youâve always known.â
