An email I received from Sandals: As you know, the island of Jamaica has been severely impacted by Hurricane Melissa, which made landfall on the island this week as a Category 5 storm.  With heartfelt gratitude, we know at this time that all guests and team members at Sandals and Beaches resorts are safe, with their well-being as one of our top priorities.  However, much of Jamaica is still in the process of assessing the damage, and rebuilding those lives and livelihoods that were most affected by the storm's passing.  The Sandals Foundation has already begun to mobilize, in partnership with ODPEM, World Central Kitchen, REACT and their partner foundations throughout Jamaica to coordinate the distribution of essential supplies, water, and meals, in addition to coordinating further humanitarian disaster response efforts.

Following this initial phase, the Sandals Foundation will continue to collaborate with their key partners on longer-term recovery efforts for healthcare facilities, rehabilitating schools and reviving livelihoods throughout Jamaica's communities.  At this time, donations will be critical as the most effective and immediate way to support these recovery efforts.  We humbly ask for your aid and support on behalf of Destination Jamaica; any donation amount helps, and sharing the donation link or above flyer will help us quickly mobilize aid and supplies to the island.
