𝙩𝙝𝙚    𝙣𝙚𝙬𝙨    𝙝𝙞𝙩    𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙.    here    you    thought    a    ship    coming    from    somewhere    would    be    here    to    take    you    home.    but    russell    lightborne    knew    the    truth.    and    this    one    was    for    the    history    books.    there    is    no    earth    to    go    back    to.    that    ship    and    sanctum    was    the    only    pillars    of    the    human    race.    you    can’t    help    the    disappointed    face.    and    henley    should    know,    in   fact    she’d    be    glad    to    know    the    primes    are    lying,    ❝  russell    is    lying   to    everyone.    they    aren’t    telling    the    full     story.  ❞

       the     glass     clatters     noisily     to     the     bar     top     as     he     swallows     the     remaining     liquid .            it     barely     even     burns     anymore .           the     previous     half     dozen     drinks     have     numbed     his     consciousness .                ‘       hey   !       ’              it’s     the     most     noise     he’s     made     in     almost     an     hour ,       and     he      almost     jumps     out     of     his     seat     in     surprise .              he     had     almost     forgotten     that     there     was     anything     to     hear     besides     the     wailing     still     ringing     in     his    ears .             ‘       hey ,       ’            he     repeats ,       in     a     quieter     tone ,        his     head     rolling     atop    his     neck     to     lock     glassy     ocean     eyes     upon    the     brunette ,                   ‘          alien     bartender   .             you     wanna     get     me    a     refill ?         ’

     and just like that, she’s on the defense ; brow raised and lips pursed. never before did josephine lightbourne have to play this stupid part of pretending to be someone she is not. naming day meant everyone was pleased to have their old friend or family member back. something to be celebrated !  yet, this body  -  she had friends who didn’t understand. and, let’s not forget about the children of gabriel. those who don’t agree with the traditions on sanctum. that’s how she knows the female standing before her now. she must recognize clarke. surely those newcomers had told her about their friend’s fate. oh poor, poor girl.
