Heavily annotated book are the worst :/ is it possible to exchange it? Also in the german fairy tales class im taking rn we read some of angela carter's work, it's so gooooood
the hassle of going through with a return just doesnât seem worth it to me, tbh. i want to be grateful; i can still read the book, and i can easily ignore the notes (iâve had to do that with my own copies of books in the past). itâs just unexpected. the first paragraph alone has red and blue notes and circles and squares all through it. the handwriting is really pretty though, clearly a womanâs, so part of me wants to hang on to it and see what she wrote up and noticed about the book. just by skimming through, her notes seem to be really astute.
the bookâs physical condition isnât so bad either--gently creased spine, no bent pages, etc. i just didnât expect it to be so used, you know? itâs like opening a book and hearing someone else talk over the book itself.
Thatâs awesome! Angela Carter is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers. I have her âThe Bloody Chamberâ short works collection, and when I found her compilation of fairytales from around the world, I had to get it for myself. Sheâs the high sorceress and benevolent witch queen of English literature, after all.
