Valentin could almost picture it; Alastair would turn to him, look at the cut in his hand and say: ‘I told you religion is dangerous’. Valentin would be lying if he said the thought didn’t make him smile a little.

Wrapping his handkerchief tightly around the wound the gilded relict-holder had left on him as he’d tried to polish it, he headed out. It looked like a nasty wound, but it wasn’t worth calling for Doctor Forester for it. Maybe Mrs Lancashure would know what to do. If not her, maybe-... His smile dimmed. Maybe mother’s lady’s maid can help. That was what he’d nearly allowed himself to think, wasn’t it? 

One of the most perfect example of God’s love and grace is the story of Hannah from Samuel 1. There’s no one here on earth who knows everything about you and loves you unconditionally more than the Lord our God.  Hannah, even though she wasn’t understood by her husband and was being taunted by her peer still chose to confide and believe in God. (1 Samuel 1:10-11) What I learned about Hannah’s story is that no one, not even your loved ones can understand your feelings more than God. God is the only one capable of loving us unconditionally. Though relationships w/ our friends and family are good, the best relationship we can ever have is with God. God is faithful, He will never disappoint us that’s why we should always rely on Him. True enough God granted Hannah’s wish and gave her a son (Samuel the prophet) w/c she gave up to God, and in place of Samuel God blessed Hannah with more children. So let’s take on Hannah’s example, let’s trust and rely on the one true God.
