an npc from lyn’s life
meet samorn chanthara ! sam is lyn’s younger sister & from the moment she was born, the two were thick as thieves. they had a happy childhood, surrounded by family & lyn was her best friend. lyn had helped sam through everything that threw at her & was always there with sisterly advice. & while, like lyn, sam grew up with a love of video games, she had no idea what she wanted to do with her life. she tried all sorts of jobs in all sorts of fields, but nothing seemed to click for her the way things seemed to for people around her. she began to feel immense guilt for relying so heavily on her parents to support her while she tried to figure out where her passions lied.
in the end, she started working for the postal service of all things. she could exactly call mail her passion, but the job was something she enjoyed & she became quite close with her partner. he was gruff & aloof at first, but her unbridled positivity left a crack in this old man’s outer shell. eventually she came to realise that he was packed full of stories & her days were filled with delivering packages & listening to her new friend go on about anything & everything.
when sam first heard about the true nature of lyn’s relationship, she was appalled. she didn’t understand how she’d missed the signs, but a part of her was also hurt that lyn was struggling but didn’t want to let even sam in on the truth. & seeing the aftermath of the break up was no easier. it was ugly at best, & detrimental to lyn’s mental health at worse. so when lyn finally talked about moving to l.a to follow ice & new, sam was torn. on the one hand she knew it would be so much better for lyn to live in a healthy environment & to get a fresh start, but on the other, lyn was her best friend & closest confidant. she wasn’t ready to lose her rock. but she swallowed her feelings & supported lyn in her decision, promising to visit at every opportunity.
