My family still don't get that when I say I don't like a smell, taste, texture or noise.
It's not a casual 'I can take or leave that thing'
It's a 'my autism makes it that thing will leave me heaving, distressed or in pain'
#autism#like bees#the noise they make leaves me a crying mess if one gets near me#always has since I was a young child#Yet my parents are both like....why haven't you grown out of that fear#Yeah because I can grow out of an autistic trait#same with smells#some times I can't eat when certain smells and noises are present and I get the......You'll have to grow out of that#Yeah sure#yeah sure
