Captainβs supplemental... 22/365 Part two. I never generally like to post the same song twice, even if it is a different version, but I couldnβt pass this opportunity. Since his passing from COVID-19, the album version has been brought me comfort, but I never knew of this versionβs existence. It is touching my emotional core that it is so been hard to open for so many years. This (and the album version) would forever be a part of the soundtrack that is connected to my twin brotherβs passing.
Captainβs log, stardate 202005.16... 21/365 Part one. After an hour past midnight since receiving the news of my twin brotherβs passing from COVID-19 Wednesday at 11;45 pm, heavy raindrops started pouring. Usually, the sound of the raindrops falling on the AC would bother me and would keep up all night. However, that night, it was quite comforting, because nature was doing all of the things I could not do at that specific moment. As I laid in bed, I started thinking of the chorus to the song, βRainβ, by Samantha James, which I thought fit perfectly well for this, similarly to a musical selection that not only plays along, but matches the mood to a scene of an episode, perhaps, from a hugely popular one hour drama. When I think about the afterlife, I think about how none of us know whatβs beyond the physical realm. Most believe that we will see our deceased loved ones again when we transition, but the sad truth is that there may be a strong possibility we may never see them again.I canβt tell you if my twin brother has heard this song before, but if he has, then Iβd like to believe that heβd have it on repeat.I love you forever. RIP π
