She kept waiting, hoping that one day the light on her screen would turn on with a notification from him. Everything happened so abruptly, nothing said before she found herself at a loss for his presence.
It was silly maybe, to hold onto someone she didn't have.
They had never confirmed anything, truthfully Mei had no idea if they were going to end up having that conversation. He seemed more than willing, but her? She hesitated.
She never sought out that kind of companionship before, too content and comfortable with her freedom to be able to give it up so easily.
But when he disappeared, she realized what a fool she'd been.
"..Was it because of me?"
Had she been the reason for his absence? Was she going to be who's to blame if he left again?
