When Sam saw the state of the store after the earthquake, she legit cried a little, and she never cried. But seeing the shop, a place where she poured most of her energy and her heart into, nearly completely destroyed on the inside, broke her heart. She pulled herself together and began cleaning up, though, using magic to mend things she could, and tossing the things she couldn’t. A lot of perishable ingredients had to be binned, and she knew she would have to take a complete inventory to make sure to order the correct things.
She heard Bailey’s familiar shuffling gait before she saw him. “Be careful,” she told him without looking up from where she was attempting to spell a broken cat femur back together. “There’s broken glass everywhere.”
