âMay I stay with you for a few days?â Sam had asked him in that cute little British drawl of his. May I, heâd said - so cute, so adorable, as if Sean was gonna say anything but yes, as if Sean could ever. And seeing him so-- Miserable, so depressed, thatâs just! You know. Sad.Â
ââCourse you may, honey,â Sean had said, patting the side of Samâs cheek.
He hadnât been prepared for this.Â
He hadnât been prepared for Sam sleepily wandering around the house in just his boxers and a cute little t-shirt; hadnât been ready for Samâs adorable little yawns and his stretches; absolutely hadnât been expecting how clingy Sam suddenly was. Clingy! To Sean!
It helps that heâs pretty. Sam, heâs a cute little Brit, clumsy and silly and too proper, and golly, Sean just-- He just loves him. Just thinks heâs the sweetest. And this thing with Rebecca, foisting a baby onto the guy, telling him to get rid of his cat - the cat currently curled up on the sofa, whoâs the most adorable old man, like...
Mmm.Â
So maybe Sean has been a little, uh--
Ha. Maybe a little bit proprietary.
Itâd been almost a shame, when Sam had first shacked up with Rebecca. Sean likes her, sure he does, has always liked her, but-- Mmm, there was the slightest bit of jealousy, her snapping the guy up when Sean would take perfect care of him...
So, yeah. Sean had suggested getting a matching piercing, just like Seanâs, for Sam, and golly, heâd just gone right with it. And doesnât he look a picture, with that shiny gold ring through the lobe of his ear, just like Seanâs?
âDonât fiddle with your ear, honey,â Sean murmurs, and Sam glances up, his eyes owlish, and his hand comes away from his ear immediately, settling in his lap. Heâs... Mm. Yeah. Good. Sam looks a little nervous when Sean moves over, the rollerskates sliding easily over the laminate flooring of the dining room, and Sean offers him his hands, pulling Sam up to his feet. âYou rollerskated before?â
âYes,â Sam says. âBut-- But as a child, not as an adult.â
âWell, should be easier now,â Sean purrs. âYour legs must be at least an inch longer.â Sam splutters, losing his balance slightly, and Sean loves the way he grips at Seanâs jacket, keeping himself upright, pulling himself closer--
Samâs mouth is against Seanâs chin, his breath hot, and Sean grins a little, reaching up and stroking Samâs cheek. Immediately, Sam exhales breathlessly, and he looks at Sean with his eyes a little wide, his mouth open.
âBeautiful,â Sean murmurs quietly. âRebecca shoulda treated you better.â Sam stares at him, his lips opening and closing, and he looks so flustered, such a bright pink in his cheeks... Sean should take a step back. Heâs pushing the limits of âyour friendly neighbourhood biâ, and even if Sam isnât actually saying he wants Sean to back off, heâs probably just being polite, leaning too much into that British--
âYou, I like... You treat me-- I like. But she-- But I...â Sam stumbles over every word, and Sean chuckles indulgently.
âItâs okay, Sam, letâs--â
âYouâre beautiful too!â Sam blurts out, breathing a little bit heavily. âNot that-- I mean, can you call a man... Beautiful? I mean, handsome, youâre very handsome, not that I-- You know, of course you know, that youâre handsome, and I donât necessarily mean to tell you thinks you already know, but youâre.... You know, itâs been very stressful, what with Rebeccaâs-- Not that I fault her for being anxious, but Iâm anxious too, and you make me feel less... Anxious.â
âReally?â Sean asks mildly. âThat doesnât come across.â Samâs face falls - itâs the cutest.
âOh, no,â Sam says. âReally?â
âLetâs go skating,â Sean says mildly, but Sam snatches for him, gripping him by the hips, and Sean slowly raises his eyebrows.
âNo,â Sam says. âNo, I donât want to, letâs-- Letâs stay here, inside. I want to... Um, I donât know, exactly, how to say that Iâm-- Merely that Iâm open, if you should desire to...â Sean leans forward slightly, trying to make sense of what Sam is blurting out. âKiss me.â
âKiss you,â Sean repeats softly. âMmm. Interesting proposal.â God. God.
âBut I--â Enough talking - Sean would have happily done this years ago. Sean grabs Sam by the hair, catching his mouth hard under Seanâs own, and Sam whimpers against his mouth, whimpers! Whimpers! He can feel the vibration of it against his tongue, and he he needs to get these skates off him, needs to spread him out...
Sam is all but whining into Seanâs tongue, coming to pieces, and--
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
âOkay,â Sean murmurs. âOkay, okay, that-- Skates off.â
âYes,â Sam spits out, nearly falling in his haste to sit down. âYes, yes, yes...â

A new regional production of Billy Elliot the Musical is coming up - from 10th to 15th February in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Some cool facts: Sam Faulkner, who played Billy in Ogunquit, will reprise the role. Also, Janet Dickinson will play Mrs Wilkinson, like she did on Tour, and Maximilien Baud will return to play Older Billy. Exciting!
By the way, Ira David Wood III will play Dad, and his son Ira David Wood IV will play Tony. Father and son playing father and son, thatâs a first in Billy Elliot history!

So the director of the childrenâs theater camp I work at went to the closing night performance of Billy Elliot at the Ogunquit playhouse and I'm told during Sam Faulkner's (Billy) first big number the audience stood for almost five minutes and clapped while he was in finish and he was so overwhelmed he burst into tears on stage and I'm so happy right now he so deserved it don't touch me.
