He was totally not smirking. "Test what? There's no testing." Aaron took a couple steps around him. Definitely unrelated -- so not intentionally deciding on how best to lop off some of that mop. "So if you did get a haircut, would it be...buzz cut? Just off the shoulders? Mullet?" Snip snip.
Sam backed up, watching his son like he was the worst monster he'd ever faced.
"Put. The. Scissors. Down."
He's totally going to pretend like that beat isn't one he knows now after a million starts from the top. Even running in and out like that, he had to pick up some of all that music. "Yeah, well, at least it's over. They can all go home happy." They could too, he hoped. No, hope was a dangerous word. He didn't hope. He just wished.
"Yeah," he said quietly, nodding. Sam smiled, thinking about those kids and their ridiculous musical--the love they'd poured into it.
"Yeah," he repeated, more loudly this time. "We did good, didn't we?"
"I'm just saying. You think these would be sharp enough?" he picked up the pair of scissors. And opened them a couple threatening times. "Y'know, for non-hair related purposes."
He eyed the scissors.
"Don't test me, son."
