Lila does her research
In this AU, Lila does her research on the class beyond just seeing Adrien. She looks into Marinette, and sees all of her connections through designing, and decides to make her a target.
But not in a bad way.
Lila decides that cozying up to Mari would be much better than trying with Adrien, his dad is notoriously strict anyway.
So first day of class, she only lies about Ladybug. Chat Noir visits Marinette, so it would be something to bond over. For some reason however, Marinette doesn’t believe her? Ladybug never comes to call her out, so she never has the grudge.
Marinette never calls her out in front of the class, but she still takes time off to recover and plan. Not as long, only a couple weeks, but still a while.
When she gets back she tries again to get in Marinette’s good graces, but is told she’ll only become her friend if Lila stops lying.
So, surprisingly, she agrees. Lila tells the class that she doesn’t really know Ladybug, and was just hoping to make friends. The class accepts her apology, and she goes to sit with Marinette.
This time it could be Alya who she targets, as competition, or maybe she doesn’t target anyone.
Either way, she gets better at lying.
You could do Lilanette, but it’s up to the writer.
But, when it comes down to it, when everything gets revealed, who’s side will Marinette be on?
