I need to get more people to think about sockeye salmon especially during the season of their death. whenever it gets dark i think of them

The Bears of Brooks Falls by Michael Fitz is officially my favorite bear book. it’s incredibly in-depth but balances straight facts with anecdotes of bear activities he witnessed in his time as a park ranger that demonstrate those facts in action. it’s a fun read but really informative!!! it’s also about Katmai more generally, so there’s geologic history, salmon biology, and human-wildlife interaction analysis and reflection as well. super cool book and i’m definitely going to make my library order a copy
