The last several days have been an acute practice of this for me. I can’t say that the practice was perfect, but it did bring me back to this before almost every utterance. It was the toll that had to be paid by my thoughts before they passed through my lips (or my fingertips). . . . Sometimes the toll was too high, and silence became my traveling companion instead... or rather, my stillness companion. . . . The thing about Beautiful, though, is that it also sometimes looks like the conventionally Ugly—harsh truths, raw vulnerability, deep disappointment, strong words, and anger and frustration that has been left to fester for too long. Those can be beautiful too, when shared with love for the greater good. . . . What is your Beautiful thing to share? That’s been dying to be revealed? How can you get curious about it? Extend it grace and safe passage so it can make its way to the light... where its beauty can be witnessed? What is the thing your Beautiful will inspire in others? What will it mirror in them that will allow the release of their own Ugly/Beautiful into the world without the cover of shame or the fear of being seen, naked? . . . How can you express Beautiful and Truth and Ugly at the same time, always, and have it impact like pure Love? . . .
