In late September in 2015, I got very interested in Japanese horror folklore and decided to do some reading regarding it. Among the toilet creeping monsters and jumping umbrellas, I stumbled upon a story regarding Hachishakusama (tanslations: 8-Feet-Tall). Apparently it is a super natural being that takes form as an freakishly tall woman often seen in white summer gown and a summer hat. I thought it looks cute actually lol. She has a deep voice, you can tell she is around if you hear “po...po...po...” outside and that’s a bit scary cause she is known to take children away from their families form by sounding like their parents. If you happen to escape from her by moving out of Japan and you decide to visit when you’re older, she’ll still come after you! 

but anyway, the images above are the comparisons between the sketch I made and the finish product. I am not that skilled in line art and I have not touched my tablet for almost a few years so it feels strange to draw on plastic tip instead of a graphite lead. I think the painting practice is very good though it does look strange. I prefer the sketch version. Maybe one day I will redraw this.
