The Foil: Inside the F50 factory with SailGP’s chief boat builder
Not many specifics, but…
The first version of the mothership would be chartered, a "final" mothership specifically-built would come later, no details on the size. The mothership would not eliminate the need to have a tech site onshore.
Team 14 is still a secret, but Hannah Mills may be involved
Nationality rules will not change next year

Racing on the Edge: Kai Hockley and Anna Weiss (are awesome)
Thanks Matt for trying to pin down Russell “it is a product” Coutts with some of your questions
To summarize (with my thoughts):
On split fleet racing: It was gonna happen anyway next year with 14 boats and had nothing to do with protecting the assets or the sailors (Complete and utter bs. And sooooo disrespectful to the sailors, the sponsors and viewers)
On the Season finale in Dubai: We will decide by the end of September whether it needs to be moved, but the middle east comprises 16% of our coverage so that is at risk (If they are event planning this late, then they are really incompetent. Totally at odds with the marketing talks ‘we are planning for 10 years from now’)
Extra boat for spare parts and extra boat for training in Sarasota (Well, nothing new here - been in the works for at least 2 years)
New safety initiatives- looking at the bows, cockpit and new windows in the sails (Nothing changing. Safety will be delegated to the strategists and drivers when there could be blind spots during racing. In other words, at all times, the sailors are taking their lives into their own hands)
The interview with Nathan Outeridge starts circa the 6:30 min mark and continues to 10:15 min
Split fleet racing positives highlighted for SailGP!
Although, I wasn’t cheering for Los Gallos, I thought the finale was pretty competitive and they showed why they are one of the favourites to win the league all over again.
Sassnitz will be a fun watch in August!
