Kim Harty (MFA 14) is included in the exhibition "Supercool Glass" at the Shelburne Museum.  Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vermont is one of the country's most diverse museums of paintings, folk art, quilts and textiles, and New England history and architecture. Over 150,000 works are on view in 39 exhibition buildings located on the Museum's 45 acres of lilacs, landscaped grounds, and gardens.

Engaging with questions of time, history, vision, identity, and the body, Sophie Kahn (MFA 2013) combines digital cutting-edge processes within an archival and historiographic tradition. The resulting sculptures, 3D printed busts fabricated from imperfect data, recall monuments that depict the artist as both an innovator and archeologist. Using museum-style modes of framing, Artifact excavates the still image of the portrait through post-photographic means. Perhaps as Kahn’s figures suggest, we can interpret a view of the not so distant future, where anonymous subjects are immortalized in a forever liminal, twilight state.
