Mata Ka Jagran is a sacred and holy programme for the entire Hindu community. In this devotional event, all-night kirtans and bhajans are sung by devotional singers, and Maa Durga is worshipped with complete faith and devotion.
The Jagran begins with the lighting of the Akhand Jyoti of Mata Ji, symbolising eternal divine energy. This is followed by Vandana, a devotional song sung by the lead singer or by any devotee who wishes to offer prayers through singing.
After Vandana, devotees offer Bhet to Mata Rani, which includes a red chunni, coconut, fruits, shringar items, sweets, and other offerings. This is followed by Ardaas (prayer), seeking blessings for peace, prosperity, and protection. The Bhog is then distributed among the devotees present.
Short breaks are taken during the night, and after about half an hour, the kirtan resumes, continuing the devotional atmosphere. Towards the end of the Jagran, Aarti and special devotional songs are performed, followed by Langar and Kanjak Pooja. Finally, Bhog and Prasad are distributed to all devotees, marking the Samapti (completion) of the Mata Ka Jagran.
Mata Ki Chowki represents the ancient and sacred culture of Hindu society. It is a devotional programme in which the life stories and divine experiences of God and Goddess are sung in the form of bhajans and kirtans. These devotional songs are generally performed in Sanskrit and Hindi, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
Mata Ki Chowki is usually conducted on auspicious occasions such as weddings, engagements, birthdays, anniversaries, and during festivals like Ganpati Pooja and Navratri. Unlike Mata Ka Jagran, Mata Ki Chowki is a short-duration devotional programme, typically lasting 4 to 5 hours.
During the programme, devotees offer their respect and prayers through singing. Garlands, Mata Jiâs Bhet (red chunni), coconut, fruits, shringar items, and sweets are presented with devotion. This is followed by Aarti, performed by the devotee who organises the Chowki.
After Aarti, Bhog and Prasad are offered to Mata Ji, followed by Amrit Varsha and Phoolon Ki Varsha, where flower petals are showered as a symbol of divine blessings. Finally, Prasad is distributed to all devotees present, marking the Samapti (completion) of the Mata Ki Chowki.
