Korgul froze, the drawn breath ragged and rasping as it caught in his throat. Thick fingers were blood slick and shaking, staining the bandages even as he tried to staunch the blood flow.
“Don’t tell her,” He managed to mumble, turning towards her. The silver burns covered his torso, the jagged and black edges of cuts trailing the lines of his ribs and the curve of his iliac furrow. It was bad, but he had survived worse. Nidhel had seen him come back from worse. He just needed to stop the blood flow, “Please. I don’t want her to worry about me.”
