so episode 8 of season 3 was definitely alot more cruel than it should be-
but can we talk about episode 6? actual body horror? legit just child experimentation? id love to get to know your thoughts on this- because- holy shit man- ive NEVER felt so uncomfortable in a show before-
Sure! Episode 8 struck a chord with me because of the connection I feel with the characters specifically, so I didn't get as much of a sense of dread from watching episode 6, but I really loved the themes they explored and the depths they were willing to go to. Definitely one of my favorite Animaniacs episodes ever.
It gets worse the more you think about it. Lab grown creatures which are essentially Jurgen's "children", but he doesn't care about them at all beyond their scientific value to him. They know no life other than one of confinement and servitude to him, but they are mostly sweet creatures regardless :(
The way some of them are designed would definitely imply that their existence is a painful, or at least uncomfortable, one. Biological creatures like this were not meant to exist.
Even for the main three, their existence would be inconvenient. How is Saffo supposed to do anything with those flipper arms??
Look at their living conditions, man.
Treated like dirty animals despite being fully sapient, loving beings. (Not that actual animals should even be treated like this, either.)
Jurgen is really an evil man.
Every time I see these guys, though, I'm really filled with love for these polite little (and big) freaks. They have such a close bond as family, and I think they'll be just fine making their way in the world together.
