Beni had a good week in Bradenton for the Super Y Championships. First game in Group Stage was against a team from Atlanta (by the end of the tourney this team ended up National Runner-ups). We lost 0:3 with the last two goals coming in the final three minutes of the game. Second game in Group Stage was against a team from Northern Virginia, we blanked them 4:0. Final game in Group Stage against a team from Michigan which we lost 0:1 on a bullshit obvious handball in the box which was converted into a goal. Of course, it ended being a no call by the refs. Problem was that we were supposed to play them the day before and we were up 1:0 in the first 5 mins of the game when it was called for lightening. Sucks that we could not have kept our lead instead of restarting the game. And it’s u lucky that goal was their only shot on goal the whole game. Soccer can be a cruel game at times. We were supposed to play in the 5th consolation game against a team from Maryland but they forfeited to us, so you can say that we placed 5th in the US at Super Y Nationals. Not too shabby for this crop of young men. It’s been a long year qualifying then finishing in Florida. Well done and let’s try this again next year. Beni got to hang out at the beach, even if it was windy and cold as hell. #sacity @benny_boy_60 @beni_da_boss (at Manatee Beach Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/BrRIRtkA1mh/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=vh12igtu005b
