It’s a quiet morning in the city of Yokohama, we zoom in to find one 14 year old Nick Carter getting up for the morning. His parents, Nikki and Philip Carter were watching the news in the living room. Nick does his daily chores, getting dressed, brushing his teeth, eating breakfast, and getting the mail. Where he finds two letters, one addressed to himself and the other addressed to his parents. The letter addressed to him was from one Ousuke Atsuko and it read;

Hello, young Mr. Carter,

My name is Ousuke Atsuko, and I lead the RK Foundation where your parents work. We have noticed how you took a Dorumon in after nursing him back to health and wanted to offer you a job at the RK Foundation. We await your response, though I think you’re going to accept. We have assigned you a group of other Junior Operatives if you and them so accept, but you won’t meet them until we’ve flown them and their guardians in.

Thanks for considering my offer,

Ousuke Atsuko.

Nick read the letter multiple times, in shock that the head of the RK Foundation would notice him of all people. “Mom! Dad!” Nick called out to his parents, in which they came rushing from the living room.

“Yeah Nick what's up? Also quiet down, your sisters are still sleeping.” Philip told Nick.

“Well I got this letter from the RK Foundation, and I thought you might want to see it.” Nick replied.

Nikki took the letter and read it quickly, then she looked up, handed the letter to her husband, and smiled brightly at her son, “Hon, this is great news!”

After Philip finished reading the letter, he smiled in the exact same way as his wife, “I can take you there when I leave for work today.”

“Ok Dad, thank you. But also there was another letter addressed to you and mom.”

“Yes Nick, your father and I noticed, I’ll read it after you and your father leave.”

About an hour later, Philip and his son, as well as Dorumon, left for the RK Foundation, which was close by to their house. The RK Foundation did house them when they offered Philip and Nikki a job at the RK Foundation, Philip and Nikki knew about Digimon before the RK Foundation and quickly accepted their offer and moved them and their family to Yokohama, Japan. The RK Foundation was located in a giant building, looked to be 30 stories tall, not including any underground layers. The inside looked just as fancy, with ornate carpeting, Sci-Fi computers, and extremely comfortable waiting rooms. Philip went to the woman at the front desk on the first floor and said to her, “Hello ma’am me and my son have a meeting with Mr. Atsuko at around this time today.”

The woman looked up and smiled at him, “Ah yes, Nickolaus Carter I presume? He’s waiting for you on the 13th floor, and Mr. Carter, you may head home for the day. Mr. Atsuko sends congratulations on having another daughter recently.”

Philip smiled and thanked her. He then escorted his son to the elevator where he hugged him and said, “I hope you have a great day Nick, and if you don’t we’ll get ice cream after,”

“Thanks dad.” Nick said, waving goodbye to his father.

Nick and Dorumon went into the elevator, where they pressed the 13th button. The elevator went up to the 10th floor where it stopped and three people and a Ryudamon got on, 2 of them looked roughly to be Nick’s parents' age, and the last who Nick presumed was their child with their Digimon. They then rode with Nick to the 13th floor where they all got off. Nick saw a man with orange and blue eyes in a white and red suit waiting for them. “Ah! I presume you’re Nickolas Carter and you’re Daniel Corinth. I’m Ousuke Atsuko, call me whatever you’d like. I’m here to introduce you both to the world of Digimon. But first,” Ousuke looked up at Daniel’s parents, “Kasumi and Jin, you may go home, your presence is unnecessary, and if you’re concerned for your child's safety, I guarantee that I can protect him.”

Daniel’s parents looked at Ousuke for a second and said, “Thank you for this opportunity, Mr. Atsuko.” And then they left, leaving the two kids alone with Ousuke.

“No need to be shy, feel free to introduce yourself to each other.” Ousuke said to the two kids.

Nick turned to Daniel and stuck out his hand for a handshake, “Hi! I’m Nick.”

Daniel looked out at the hand stuck out and slapped it away, “I’m Daniel.”

“Well that was a little rude Mr. Corinth, you are after all my first two Junior Ops, so I’d suggest you two be kind to each other,” Ousuke then made a signal with his hands and gestured in two people, an older boy and an older girl, “This is Jason Barret and Harriet Willson, they are your Junior Rangers, which are sorta like supervisors.”

The boy stuck out his hand, “Just call me Jay, I’ll be training you two for the foreseeable future.”

Nick shook his hand, and Daniel simply said, “If you’re our trainer, then what’s her job?”

“I am Harriet, friends call me Hallie, and I give you intel.” She said to the rude kid in front of her.

“Geez Hall be nicer to the kid, after all he’s a lot like you were.” Jay teased her.

“While this conversation has been pleasant for the least, I do have more to show them Jason, now if you two boys,” Ousuke pointed at Nick and Daniel, “wouldn’t mind following me, I’ll give you your digivices and then we’ll see if there’s an assignment for you two to go on to gauge your abilities.”

The boys followed Ousuke into a close room and looked at a small table holding two GameBoy esk objects, “These,” Ousuke gestured towards the devices, “are digivices, they can bond you to Digimon and can scan them for information. Go on, Daniel, yours is the one on the left, and Nick, yours is on the right.”

Daniel grabbed his digivice, and a pixelated Ryudamon appeared on the screen, with flashing text, “PARTNER BONDED”. Then Nick grabbed his digivice where its screen went red and said, “SCAN COMPLETE,” which was then followed by a pixelated Dorumon, with flashing text, “PARTNER BONDED”.

“How interesting,” Ousuke murmured to himself, “Nickolaus, may I see your digivice?”

“Yeah sure.” Nick handed the man his digivice.

“Ah, just a glitch.” Ousuke said before handing the digivice back to Nick.

“And our assignment?” Daniel said impatiently.

“Patience my friend,” Ousuke received a ding on his watch, “however we did just receive notice of a Digimon downtown.”

“Finally.” Daniel said, going into the elevator.

Nick, Daniel, Dorumon, and Ryudamon arrived downtown, where they saw a wild Saberdramon with red eyes attacking people. “Looks to be a Saberdramon, though I don’t know why it has red eyes.”

“Dorumon, do you think you can handle this?” Nick asked his Digimon partner.

“Last time I fought a Champion level it didn’t necessarily go well for me.” The Digimon responded.

“Well then,” Ryudamon spoke up, “It’s a good thing we’re here, right Danny?”

“Indeed, Ryudamon, attack it.”

Ryudamon leaped towards Saberdramon, taking it to the ground and hitting it with several explosions. Though this only seemed to make the Saberdramon even angrier, in which it grabbed Ryudamon and flew into the sky. “Dorumon!” Nick yelled.

“On it boss!” Dorumon responded, in which Dorumon then launched a metal sphere into the Saberdramon. It dropped Ryudamon in response and fired meteor-like feathers towards Doruon, who barely dodged them. It screeched, which caused Dorumon’s pupils to dilate in confusion and Dorumon fired a small beam of energy in response, barely nicking the Saberdramon’s wing.

Ryudamon saw this opportunity and took it, jumping on the Saberdramon and stabbing the other wing via launching a metal blade from his mouth. The Saberdramon tried to fly into the air again, but it couldn’t, just landing hard on the ground. But it wasn’t down for the count yet, its feathers glowed purple and hit Ryudamon, knocking him back. Dorumon charged at Saberdramon and barely hit it, then teaming up with Ryudamon who made small explosions under Dorumon's feet, he charged into Saberdramon, knocking it down, it tried to screech again, but it didn't work.

“That’s not gonna work a second time pal.” Dorumon said to the Saberdramon before headbutting it.

It flew backwards into a wall where it landed and passed out from exhaustion. “You did… acceptable for our first mission Carter.” Daniel said to Nick.

“I mean, if I did ‘acceptable’ then so did you because we did equal work in this.” Nick responded.

Daniel harumphed and walked back towards the escort van with Ryudamon. Nick turned back towards Dorumon, “Was the fighting really that necessary?”

“It was either that or people would’ve gotten hurt Nick, we did good, I think it barely felt it,” Dorumon replied to Nick before hopping towards the van, “c’mon, they’re gonna leave us if we don’t catch up!”

“I’m coming!” Nick ran towards the van.

Ousuke Atsuko walked into his office, and looked into the mirror. He sighed and looked away. His plan was working out perfectly, but not fast enough. The virus was already leaking into the world, and he couldn’t do anything to stop it. At least, not yet. These thoughts were silenced by something else, the ‘malfunctioning’ digivice, what did it scan and why? Was it… No, that’s impossible.

His phone rang, startling him, “This is Ousuke Atsuko, what did you need?”

The voice on the other line spoke, “Hi Mr. Atsuko, we just wanted to tell you that two of the Junior Ops just flew in, Adrian Smith and Junichiro Sachikawa.”

Which one of your ocs would you want to dress like if you could get away with it?

all of them.......................... the reason they look like that is bc i live thru them, some part of me wants to dress like that and im not letting myself so. OC dressup time. (though most of the time i just want to be generally edgy but im super insecure abt my body so i, again, live trough OCs that have idealized bodies)
