Bombs Recovered From TMC Office in Bengal’s Sabang, CAPF Deployed Amid Rising Tension
Political tensions in West Bengal escalated after alleged explosives were recovered from a local office of All India Trinamool Congress in the Sabang area of Paschim Medinipur district.
According to reports, BJP workers alerted authorities after receiving information about suspicious materials stored inside a TMC office located in the Vishnupur area of Sabang Block. As news spread, large crowds gathered near the site, creating a tense atmosphere in the region.
Local police and Central Armed Police Forces personnel quickly reached the area and launched a search operation. During the raid, officials allegedly recovered several fresh bombs stored inside containers, triggering major security concerns ahead of the new government’s swearing-in ceremony.
A bomb disposal squad was later called to safely remove the explosives while investigators began probing:
• How the bombs reached the office
• Who stored them there
• Whether they were intended for political violence
Bharatiya Janata Party strongly criticized TMC, accusing the party of creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation after the elections. BJP leaders described the incident as an “attempt to spread terror” rather than democratic political activity.
However, TMC rejected all allegations, claiming the party was being deliberately framed. Party leaders suggested the explosives may have been planted from outside to damage their image.
Security has now been tightened across the Vishnupur area, with police and central forces conducting continuous patrols. Investigators are also examining CCTV footage and local intelligence inputs to determine the truth behind the incident.
The latest development adds to growing concerns over political violence and law-and-order issues in Bengal following the recent power shift.
