here is character 👍
MY OCS - BRIEF INTRO
there is a city sized university called Gresse on the island nation of Yixa. Gresse is a university committed solely to the study of magic and magi, and they own a gigantic fleet of quite possibly hundreds of thousands of ships that go out to almost every country in the world - countries under the Gresse Concordisse - to pick magi up and take them back to Gresse. No one except the highest higher ups in Gresse themselves know exactly why this is considered necessary. Within the terms of the Gresse Concordisse it is plainly stated that any realised magi withholding themselves from the ships and refusing passage to Gresse is committing a crime against Yixa, as is anyone knowingly harbouring them.
Saal is (secretly. Secretly , secretly) a magi ; a Pathetic one, but one nonetheless. He also just so happens to live in what would likely be classed as the 3rd most anti-magic nation in the world, Ulor. (he has some serious self image issues.)
Ulor is a country that is almost entirely run by various underground thieves guilds that have existed as long as the country itself. They are deeply entrenched in the culture of Ulor. There is no Ulor without the guilds. Despite the lowlives that make up their ranks - known as scaru - and their propensity for drinks, drugs, gambling, whores, fights and cursing, the guilds are perfectly organised and calculated, and spare no sympathy for anyone in the way.
Saal Fera is a scaru belonging to the guild 'Fratera', the guild in charge of the southernmost territories of Ulor. He's pretty much the exact opposite of organised and calculated, and very much in the way. Him being magi and therefore technically a fugitive was enough to make him a massive liability as is - without the extra mess of him then going and accidentally getting a valuable and talented guild brother, a man named Omalivilian, killed on the job. His standing with the guild master Amaria dropping from unfavourable to straight up resentful, Saal is now at risk of being dropped by the guild; even worse, Amaria has threatened to save everyone the trouble and report him to the ships to have him taken away to Gresse if he doesn't seriously make up for what he's done.
The guild is split into groups called divisas, and Divisa three is made up by Saal and his two best friends: Vitra and Divus.
And then there's Livilial, who's a member of guild Fratera who joined after escaping from her home country to Ulor, who has now made it her life's goal to make Saal as miserable as humanly possible even if that means getting him kicked out the guild for good; Omalivilian was her beloved younger brother. However, Livilial and Saal already have a complicated past, meaning her feelings about him are a lot more conflicted that she'd like to admit.
There is plenty of more in depth lore about all of them that I have posted about , but that's the shortest overview I can give I reckon !! now I will put all of the tags

so yeah I know the trope is always "everyones oc always has heterochromia" but to be fair Saal has it for very specific reasons .
I use a few things in his design to represent an imbalance in his life, like his fallen braid and his asymmetrical clothes and shoes, and his eyes are another one of those things . Meant to represent that there is something off centre about his life . (The braid which can be fixed by pinning it back up also represents an extra thing of something in his life needing to be fixed , and I always imagine it never falling down again in his good ending to show that's fixed forever .)
So one of Saal's eyes is brown , the most common eye colour in the world, representing the part of himself that is and wants to be like everyone else. his normal guy front . Blue is the colour i use to represent magic in my world . The colour of hand ship sails and Yixan's uniforms and the sea that the ships come from . The dark blue eye represents his magic . (There's also the fun detail that he gets the brown eye gene from his null father and the blue from his magi mother .)
His eyes, despite being different colours, are very similar values, which (alongside the fact that I just cast them in darkness a lot) means they often don't look different at all . Naturally that represents him hiding his magic; you can't TELL there's a difference in him, you can't TELL there's an asymmetry. Long story short the blue eye is symbolic of his magic so not being able to tell it's blue = symbolic of not being able to tell he's magic
@lilliancdoodles (sorry for tagging , but just in case you actually did want to know :D )
wanted to do more art based on the specifics of the bad ending
yippee ask game!!
7-What overdone joke does/would Vitra repeat constantly?
12-What does Livilial's laugh sound like?
10-Find/describe a dress that Omalivilian would wear/would suit him
21-Does Divus have any particular mannerisms, gestures or physical habits?
37-Does Saal keep any collections?
:D
12. Probably just absolutely angelic honestly . high-ish pitched , open , but not overly loud . No clapping or accidental snorting or anything , just really pure and simple . Birds fly by and the sun breaks on her face and her teeth sparkle type shit lmfao. Such a shame it's gone forever
10. I looked up yellow sundress with a very specific style in mind and I found it
this is the style of clothing most common for everyone in Brin where he's from; no defined waist , puffs out at the bottom, very short stopping just at the hips . Now just imagine this but with long , flowy sleeves , and that's straight up probably a piece of clothing he wore in Brin that he brought with him to Ulor .
21. He has quite a few ! He tries to cover his mouth when he smiles or laughs to hide the missing tooth . He often runs his fingers over the scarring on his face . When he's in fancy dress to pose as someone of import to get in somewhere , he puffs out his chest and lifts his head up high, and speaks with a fake affluent accent . When he's in normal mode , he slouches a lot more and speaks rougher. He probably also touches his hair a lot, making sure everything is in place. He's more than a little superstitious, so he does the Izuban ward against evil when he's nervous or in danger on instinct (which is closing your eyes, making a ✌️shape with your hand and quickly tapping your eyelids with those fingers .)
37. He actually does kinda ! He makes little statues to the god Vavahn (either using conventional means or magic) and keeps them all in his little secret fane .
Thank you for the ask !!
