#s3: tutorial

There are 2 ways to do this, and you can choose which one you prefer the most. If you like to use the existing textures of the ts4 mesh, you’ll follow this tutorial from the beginning, if you want to create new texutres, follow @simplyimaginarypeople tutorials or skip to step 8 where you’ll scale your uv.

I prefer to use the existing textures, because when trying to create new textures if the mesh is double sided, it will be difficult to get a nice texture. Step 1: Open the ts4 package in s4pe

Step 2: In the tag tab, go look for the ‘RLE2′ and click on them, until you find a texture that is partly grey or white.

Step 3: Right-click on it, and export it as a DDS

Step 4: Open up your photo-editing program, and load the just extracted DDS (don’t load it with mindmaps)

Step 5: Try to select the texture (not the whole image)

Step 6: Copy or cut the selection and paste it in a new image canvas of the size 1024x1024

Step 7: Save it and open it as a texture for your clothing mesh in blender

Step 8: Now you’ll see that your mesh is kinda differently shaped comparing to the texture. Now we gonna scale the uv so it fits the texture more properly. Press S and move your cursor to scale it completely. Pressing S and then X, Y or Z with scale it along the chosen axis. In my example, I only scale it along the Y axis. Press G to move the uv freely, and G with X,Y, or Z to move it along an axis.
