Centaurworld headcannon:

The nowhere king were actually the herd for the human with the red magic but after they became trapped in the darkness of the nowhere, their magic became tainted by the darkness, absorbing it until they became sort of black holes for magic, absorbing magical beings into themselves. The human was only safe because they were without magic. So their herd became this amalgamation of all of them. The human manages to escape, trapping the beast their herd became behind. With time, the shadow becomes ravenous, becoming indiscriminate of magical life and non-magical beings. When the herd's human tries to save them, they try to eat them, make them part of beast they have become. The human is so afraid, so broken by the loss that they develop the idea that their herd is never going to return to them and that their herd would rather eat them than come back to them. And this is what inspires the song 'Nothing Good'. This is all just a theory but like, if even part of this is true I will be happy. I mean I'll be happy just to get a season 2 at this point.
