HISTORY

Sloane was born in the winter to parents that spent more time at work than they did at home. She spent a lot of time with the neighbor across the hall, but she didn't mind. Her parents did what they could to provide but three kids were hard to afford in the city. The neighborhood always helped each other, and that kind of loyalty was something she learned at a young age.

She was never a loud kid when she was little. She was more interested in watching what everyone else was doing than join in herself. She could disappear without anyone noticing and come back with a story or something else valuable. Being the middle child, it was easy for her to do. Her parents were always busy with the oldest or the youngest.

School came and went, and Sloane treated it the way she treated most things. She disappeared into the middle and only took what was worth it from it. She barely graduated, but it wasn't because she didn't know the material. She had no interest in any of it, but she could tell you anything about the other people in her classes. She was always the one to know who was dating who, who were fighting, anything that she thought would be useful to know.

There was never a game plan for her life. She hadn't thought that far in advance, and it was clear if anyone ever looked at her resume. There were more than a dozen odd jobs listed, stock room worker, waitress at a diner, even a cleaner at one of the hospitals. That one she was upset about being fired from. But the job at Right Stop Market has been the one she's held on to the longest, and the one she plans to keep. It has the right amount of interesting things happen and the perfect amount of downtime to keep up with stories in the magazines they sell.
