Just a little preview of “Telerin Hospitality,” one of my claims for @fall-for-tolkien to be revealed in November.
Oh, I was much happier there, in those days. Unlike the Noldor, the Teleri celebrated a communal way of living; cooking, along with child-minding, laundry, and general merriment, were daily, ongoing group efforts. One could never be lonely in a Teleri household. Once I made it clear that I was of far greater use with a chef’s knife than the fisherman’s harpoon, even Telpe stopped pleading with me to join him out at sea. It was the sandstone kitchen bench that became my true home by the shores of Tol Eressëa.
