It's finally here! For those of you who wanted more SeasonTale... I'm finally starting the story!
Here we go!
âThis isnât a good idea.âÂ
âAnd why do you think that?âÂ
âAccording to my calculations, the two princes will fight for power once they are older. This will lead to a division in your plan.âÂ
âPerhaps, but they are both my sons.âÂ
âWhich alone is impossible. I donât understand how you had two.âÂ
âWell, I did, and both seem equally worthy of becoming my assassin servant.âÂ
âOne of them will rebel.âÂ
âIf youâre so smart, tell me what to do with the other!âÂ
âYou could give a child to the scientist.âÂ
A long moment of silence past between the conversers as a new creature joined their conversation.Â
âI experiment on monsters, it wouldnât be a good idea to give him to me.âÂ
âA prince should not be treated to such a pathetic life.âÂ
âRude.âÂ
âBut he doesnât have to know that he was ever a prince.âÂ
âThatâs impossible. Their eyes will show that they are related.âÂ
âNot if you changed them with magic.âÂ
The Gasters floated silently as they observed the third. They pondered what the stranger said.Â
âShouldnât you keep them separated anyway? So they donât find each other and rebel?âÂ
âWeâve already taken care of the other two children, surely they wonât find each other.âÂ
âItâd be devastating to our plan if they somehow did all meet.âÂ
âExactly. So, change one of the otherâs eyelids with magic and send him with the scientist. Your plan will be flawless with them never meeting each other.âÂ
âBut the bond of brotherhood is so strong-âÂ
âDo as he says. Take the smaller one as your son. I wanted him less anyway.âÂ
âI am not a father. I conduct experiments, and Iâm about to enter a new project with the spring kingdomâs Gaster by testing my subjects with magic!âÂ
âWho says the child canât be one of the subjects?âÂ
A grin appeared on the scientist's face. He rubbed his hands together. âYou, sir, are a smart lad.âÂ
âI try.âÂ
âMy son will become a prince that everyone fears. He will become a heartless killer. I already see it in him.âÂ
âIf he refuses?âÂ
âHe doesnât have a choice. Iâm sure youâll make sure of that?âÂ
âOf course. None of the children have a choice in what happens to them anyway.âÂ
âBut if they find the rebellion?âÂ
The king snapped a deadly look at the scientist, his eyes lighting up. âSolstice will never find the children, let alone bring them together. I see no flaw in our plan.âÂ
âBut-âÂ
âYou dare question your leader? Iâm sure he has the rebellion taken care of.âÂ
âTake the small Sans, I no longer need him. Make sure to keep him far away from the other kingdoms. And watch the other children from afar.âÂ
âYes sire.âÂ
The scientist scooped up the former prince into his arms and darted off.Â
âDo you believe that this plan will work?âÂ
âIndeed, old friend.â He smiled wickedly. âSoon, you will have four connected AUs ready for your command.â
The stranger floated and nodded silently, smiling to himself.Â

He was scared of his eyes.Â
Summer stared in horror in the mirror, repeatedly tilting his head to the side. He often pulled on his skull to get a better view, but it didnât help much. He couldnât remember his previous eyes, which scared him the most.Â
He stood in the bathroom alone with the door locked. It was a small white room with a toilet behind him and a sink in front of him. A silent fan twirled above him as he stood on his tippy toes to view the mirror. He would often jump to get a better look until he got enough momentum to sit on the counter, getting a better look at his new eyes.Â
They were suns now. Small, bright yellow dots surrounded by scattered triangles. They complimented his yellow outfit and fit with his season, but he still wasnât used to it. Heck, he wasnât used to any of the changes on his body.Â
Summer observed the sun indents his skull, the scars on his upper ribs toward his shoulders, and his sunset tongue. However, he couldnât distract himself from his eyes. The modified orbs felt weird in his eye sockets as if they didnât belong.Â
He knew that they didnât belong there. He didnât want to change his eyes or any of his body to be altered, but he had no choice.Â
The procedure was incredibly painful; no matter how many times Summer begged, Summer!Gaster refused to give him any relief. Summer would often be called into the lab for his dad to experiment with him. He was told it was for the âgreater goodâ or âgaining knowledge.â The only knowledge he got was how painful the experiments were. The eye procedure had been the most scarring of them all. He had trouble seeing out of his eyes for a while and guessed it would take a bit to get used to the new bulbs. It was worth it if it meant his dad loved him, right?Â
He had tried to run away once. After he came home from school with Summer!Alphys, he tried going to the ocean to avoid his dad. The fear of another procedure every week scarred him. However, when Summer!Gaster found him, he cried profusely, asking why he couldnât do a simple thing to help his father out. The endless tears that ran down his dadâs cheeks overwhelmed him with guilt, and he never ran away from a procedure again.Â
How strange, Summer thought at the time. He stopped crying so quickly after I said sorry⊠Maybe S!Gaster believed my apology. Summer didnât think about it much. As long as his dad accepted him, it was fine.Â
He didnât feel like he was accepted at all. Despite not making many friends in school, his father was never home. The only times he saw him were before and after he was tortured. He wished his dad would play catch the ball with him on the field, but he was always too busy. Maybe if I help him with his studies⊠he could play ball with me! It would go faster for both of us! He smiled to himself, but it came as quickly as it faded. But⊠I donât want that magic to hurt me againâŠÂ
Summer stared into his eyes once more. He wondered how many more alterations it would take for his dad to be happy with how Summer was. What kind of magic would he use next time? What would he change about Summer next time? Would he refuse to let Summer go again?Â
He felt a hand on his shoulder. Summer flashbacked to the eye procedure as the horror flooded back into him. He turned around in fright, clenching his head as tears started to fall on his face. He hyperventilated as the vision faded, revealing who had touched him.Â
S!Gaster seemed unphased by his reaction. âHow do they feel? Can you see?â He asked quickly.Â
Summer wiped away his tears and shoved his dadâs hand off his shoulder. He tried looking at S!Gasterâs long yellow robe. It was decorated with various sun colors and was in long, elegant swirls. Two blue gems were attached to the scientistâs shoulder. More gems were on his big shoes, but Summer could barely distinguish them. S!Gaster wore his water-droplet glasses and brushed some orange dust off his red and orange onesie.Â
âI-I can s-see,â Summer lied; everything was so hazy he felt like he would faint.Â
S!Gaster wrote something down in his journal before glancing back at him. âDonât lock the bathroom door, please.âÂ
Summer lowered his head. âI-Iâm sorryâŠâÂ
S!Gaster wrote down something again. âAre you afraid, Summer?âÂ
Summer nodded. He couldnât pinpoint what he was afraid of exactly. All he knew was he felt afraid when his dad was around. To him, it didnât make sense because he wanted his father to like him and catch a rubber ball with him. He told himself he could figure it out when he was a big kid. Summer!Alphysâhis teacherâtold him not to worry about it, as he was only seven.Â
Or did she say that about the burnt pie?Â
âTsk tsk,â S!Gaster clicked his pen, shaking his head. âThat wonât do⊠no no, that wonât doâŠâ he turned around and headed for the door.Â
Summer got off the counter and followed him. âD-Dad?âÂ
âWhat?â S!Gaster muttered, scribbling things down in his notebook.Â
Summer gently tugged on his robe. âI got a new ball!â His face lit up momentarily. âCould we go play catch by the ocean today?âÂ
Summerâs heart dropped when S!Gaster tugged his robe from the boyâs hands and closed the door. âNo,â he could hear his father outside of the bathroom. âDad is busy today.âÂ
The monster kids quickly packed up their bags as the bell rang. Summer wasnât in a rush like them. He didnât want to go home today. I hope the ocean isnât cold today⊠He sighed, putting the papers that he drew inside of his bag. One of them caught his eye. Huh⊠He stared at one of them; they had a big rock on them; Mrs. Alphys called them the âWinter Mountains.â They looked very cool to him, and he wondered if they were real. He planned to ask his questions tomorrow, as they would be going over it again.Â
S!Alphys erased the board and glanced back at Summer. She adjusted her glasses and set the eraser down, glancing at the only other one in the room. âHey Summer,â she called his name sweetly. âAre you doing okay?âÂ
Summer shrugged, swinging the bag over his shoulder and walking towards the door. âYes maâam.âÂ
S!Alphys picked up her sunflower dress and waddled over to him. âJust wanted to make sure, you didnât look up at all during the lesson today.âÂ
Summer glanced up at her without a word. âIâm sorry-âÂ
He would never forget the horror on her face. It was so surprising that it cut him off. S!Alphys bent down, barely able to formulate words. âSummer⊠what happened to your eyes?âÂ
âMy dad needed me for an experiment,â he shrugged. âItâs okay, they donât hurt anymore.âÂ
S!Alphysâ breath was shaky. She motioned for Summer to sit down on a desk nearby. Once he did, she took a few breaths. âAnd these⊠experiments⊠do they hurtâŠ?âÂ
Summer nodded again. He felt an insane amount of guilt engulf him. âIâm sorry, I didnât mean to make you upsetâŠâÂ
âNo, Summer, itâs not you. Donât worry,â S!Alphys spoke through watery eyes. She looked away from him for a moment. âWhat all has he done to you?âÂ
âI donât know,â Summer sighed. âHe does them every week. Heâs said that heâs only helping me by removing stuff I donât need, like my previous eyes, or whatever fert-fertility isâŠâ He had trouble pronouncing the word. âSometimes he adds things, like this sun print,â he pointed to the sun indent on his face. âItâs kinda cool, I guessâŠâÂ
His teacher nodded slowly. âIâm so sorry, SummerâŠâÂ
âWhy are you sorry?â He asked curiously. âIt makes my dad happy. I want him to be happy⊠maybe if heâs happy enough, heâll come play ball with me one day.âÂ
âDoes he not play with you?âÂ
âNo,â Summer shrugged. âHeâs too busy. I think he will one day though!âÂ
S!Alphys wiped away the tears forming in her eyes. âHoney⊠I donâtâŠâ She paused. âWill some of the boys here play ball with you?âÂ
âNo,â Summer shook his head. âThey like hopscotch more. I donât like hopscotch, it hurts my feet.âÂ
âDid your dad experiment on your feet too?âÂ
Summer nodded again.Â
S!Alphys sighed. âWhat heâs doing to you isnât okay. You know that, right?âÂ
Summer tilted his head. âItâs not?âÂ
âNo,â she said. âIt never will beâŠâ She thought for a moment again. âHow about this? You come to school tomorrow, and Iâll bring a friend who loves to play catch. How does that sound?âÂ
Summerâs eyes lit up. âReally? Yeah, Iâd like that.âÂ
S!Alphys smiled. âOkay, I will make that call right now. Be careful when youâre home, okay?âÂ
âWill do, thank you Mrs. Alphys,â he replied as he hurried out the door.Â
For the first time in a while, he felt happy. He couldnât contain his smile. Oh boy! Someone is going to come play catch the ball with me tomorrow! Iâll have to bring my new ball! I hope they like the color redâŠÂ
Once his feet came in contact with the sand, Summer slid to a halt. S!Gaster stood there, waiting for him. None of the other kids were around. Already? Summer cowered under his backpack. But I just had a procedure⊠I donât want another one.Â
âSummer, letâs go home,â his dad ordered, offering his hand.Â
Summer didnât want to upset him. He grabbed his hand and felt a sting through his ribs as S!Gaster teleported them immediately to the lab room.Â
Summer shrank back in fright, realizing where he was as his eyes slowly adjusted. âDad, please, I donât want to do another experiment. They hurt,â Summer begged, backing away.Â
âDonât disappoint me, my child,â S!Gaster salvaged through the drawers. He turned around and held the needle in his hand. It didnât take him long to grab Summerâs arm and set him on the bed. âI am helping you. This is for the greater good.âÂ
âBut-âÂ
âThis experiment will be to your soul. It will neutralize your emotions. You donât want to be afraid anymore, right?âÂ
Summer couldnât control the waterfalls falling from his eyes. âN-No b-b-but-â he caught off as he felt a burning pain when his soul was brought up. He let out a cry of pain, trying to jerk away from the magical needle. He hated the magic, he didnât want anything to do with it. His chest tightened as the pain got more severe. He wanted to flee, he wanted to run far away. He just wanted the pain to stopâŠÂ
âHold still,â S!Gaster pinned him to the bed. âClose your eyes, it will only hurt for a little bitâŠâ
