your dah isnt here but close enough, right?
"Are you Ms. Matoi's parent or guardian?"
"You could say that. What happened?"
"She's in the principal's office and needs to be picked up."
" ... I'm on my way. Thank you."

Why? All Kars has done was babysit her every now and again, and one would suppose that no one in the Mankanshoku residence was available to answer their calls. When this residence's number was distributed into the emergency call-back roster is beyond anyone's speculation. It would be a different case if the aforementioned number belonged to the flower shop, however expectations of a phone call away from the work place were next to none. Maybe Ryuko just put down any number she thought of to avoid further trouble. Still... this is a surprise.
The trip to Kairos felt long. The walk to the girl's high school felt long, as well. Each step felt as though it elapsed for minutes on end, further fueled by the elder's distaste for the city. Still, a call from the school board , one must abide. Perhaps the school board was desperate in reaching someone, but still... Kars of all people. How farfetched.
The arrival was prompt. Kars is swift in finding the principal's office where the young woman would be seated, as huffy as she'll ever be. Expecting the so-called "guardian" to question the child upon dismissal, the principal is quick to allow both of them to exit. A sigh draws itself out, and exeunt Kars and Ryuuko Matoi.
Red eyes trailed to the young woman's form, a brow quirked as lips parted in preparation to speak. Hands were swift in pocketing themselves in the season-inappropriate jacket just as words slipped through opened lips.
"So?" Words drew out sharp, feigning disappointment. The question that should be posed is 'Why is my number on the emergency list?', but... "How many did you kill?"
