Since I was recording a song from my 3DS today, I decided I would record this one too while I was at it. It's actually a really short loop, but I feel like I could listen to it for a long time.
I made this long last night after drinking a large coke and a large sweet tea at Wendy's. So... it's energetic pace is probably because of all the caffeine I had in my system while working on it. 😅
This is actually a remix of WIP I had lying around where I made the main melody by rolling a d20. It's the very first one you hear.
I'm still not quite sure how 'good' it is, but one thing I do know is that I couldn't keep still while I was recording it. ^^
I think I'd say that it's also a little bit Sonic inspired. I almost called it "Haunted Forest Zone" because of it.
I think one of the motifs that sells the spookiness is at 1:13. The bass makes it sound a bit more menacing, the pulsing "boop...boop...boop..." is a bit like a heartbeat, and that electronic chittering noise makes me think of skeletons or chattering teeth.
Here it is: the track I somehow managed to make in one sitting. ^^ I imagine this song playing in a 2d platforming level where the player is moving through different levels of an Ani'droid factory, and in the background you'd be able to see different phases of production, each one showing the Ani'droids closer to being complete. The environment would have a lot of green in it, because this facility would be holding tons of "animo-fluid." in tanks and tubes. It's a green, slightly viscous liquid that the living metal parts are stored & assembled in to keep them healthy. The tubes would be there to circulate the fluid around the whole facility to help keep it clean. But... yeah. At least half of the assembly line would be submerged in this stuff, so the player might end up swimming through it a few times (which would actually be slightly beneficial if they're an Ani'droid themself).
As for the composition, I was kinda taking inspiration from Mega Man X, but since I've been playing a lot of Halo recently, I think a few influences from that OST worked their way in.
[The character this theme belongs to]
This song has gone unfinished for a long time, but recently I decided to finally give it an ending. Though... I'll admit that there was supposed to be some sort of payoff to the buildup there instead. Oh well.

I'm... really not sure if I should call this finished, but I guess I'll leave it up to you guys. ^^;
I was originally intending to make a theme song for Orbus, but then I ended up making a battle theme instead. I specifically went for 'round' sounding instruments, but I also threw in a little trumpet to try and keep with his military theme. I added banging noises to the percussion since I kept imagining him using his magnetism to push and pull a big block of metal to try and mash the player. There's also a part where I added a new instrument and reversed it in a couple phrases to... reference 'reverse polarity' or something? plz let me know if it sounds ok. 😅
I started out with a simple melody, but it turned into a final boss type RPG style sort of thing. But, I am very happy with how it turned out. Expect more tracks like this in the future
