How’s your conversion going? What sect (if any) are you leaning towards? I’ve been looking into judaism a lot lately and though I doubt I’ll ever actually convert due to several different reasons, I’m still very interested and keeping that possibility open ☺️
(If you didn’t want this answered publicly please tell me andI’ll get rid of it, sorry)
It’s ok, right now it’smostly just studying and reading the book he recommended and trying really hardto find time to study Hebrew. We meet once a month to talk, but last time (lastFriday) we mostly just talked about what I found intriguing in the book, andany questions I had. This may be because I’m having a hard week, but right now, though I want it as much as ever, I’m feeling like I’ll never know enough orfeel connected enough. I also can’t go to services because I work Friday nights(I’m trying to switch to another shift by the end of summer so I can).
It’s interesting becauseJudaism is a very community-oriented thing and right now I’m basically workingon it by myself. I talk to my rabbi, I go when I can to weekly classes heteaches on Jewish history, and I carpool there with another guy who justfinished his conversion. But overall I don’t get a lot of interaction, and Ithink that’s making it hard to stay focused.
Sorry if that was morenegative than you were hoping for. And I just reread your ask and realized Iforgot to mention sect: I decided on Reform.
