There was a growing list of things that Lyren needed from the city. And he had spilled the last of the perfect shade of blue paint. He glared at the canvas, cursed as he covered it up and warded it haphazardly, more of a magical DO NOT TOUCH sign than meant to cause real harm if his husbands tried to move it. Grabbing his bag, he maneuvered out of their rooms, found his shoes (why had one been under the bed?) and scrambled down the stairs.
He in fact, almost missed the note entirely in his hurry.
Double checking his money purse was well warded before he left, he paused just before the door and frowned at the note attached there. Left? Without telling at least Dakkian? That seemed… unusual. Unusual enough to give the note a second read, something niggling at his brain. The third time through, it wasn't actually hard to see - it wasn't an uncommon method after all and he groaned, dropped his bag by the door.
He left, coming back with a quill and ink and swiftly circled the first letter of each sentence.
"Hey guys, hope you’re doing well. Everything is fine but I decided to go on a small trip. Let’s get together after! Perhaps a party or a dinner or something, it’d be nice to see everyone again. Maybe we can convince Jav’ris to come dance or something. Expect me back soon.
Love Flynn"
So either his kidnapper hadn't bothered to read his note, or hadn't been very smart. The latter, he decided. Lyren liked to think anyone he was friends with wouldn't get kidnapped by idiots, that would have been very disappointing.
It seemed his trip to the city was postponed. Groaning, he grabbed the note off the door and went in search of Dakkian.
