Less Eloquent, More Honest || Ryaska
He's spoken to Emmaline, delivered an apology and explained himself. Ryan feels it went incredibly well and that pleases him. However, the other half of this debacle is now the last thing he wants to face. Apologising to Emmaline had been easy and for as easy as it was, he anticipates an apology to Alaska will be just as hard.
Just as he stood at Emmaline's dorm room door the day before, Ryan stands at Alaska's door now with nothing on him except himself, bare foot and anxious. He runs a hand through his hair before finally forcing himself to knock rapidly at the door. Perhaps she isn't in. Perhaps she'll answer and promptly slam the door back in his face. He'd rather not but he will make his apology through the doorway if necessary.
And while Emmaline didn't think he needed to apologise to her, Ryan knows that an apology is absolutely needed with Alaska. She'd been angry and hurt, he'd been frustrated and exhausted. It had made for a bad combination and a worse conversation. Ryan loathes to admit he was the one at fault for his harsh words but it is the truth. He knows it and now he's in a place where being uncomfortably honest with himself on very little sleep is making him do things he would never normally do. Or perhaps it's being around kinder people lately. Whatever the reason may be, Ryan is here and he knocks again just to make certain someone has heard him.
