I don't know what to do with the fact that the curse in Leviticus is meant to intertwine desire/lust with fear and yet all it does is make these poor teenagers believe they don't deserve love because what these teens desire/lust after most is a connection with someone like themselves. A connection that lets them know they aren't alone in the world and there are people out there who don't think they are abominations and love them for who they are.
"the sons of aaron brought fire to please themselves, they worshipped as they will, so the fire of judgement fell"
that's what the deliverance healer is saying when hunter and ryan are choking on the ground. it's referencing leviticus 10:1
"And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not"
they were arrogant, basically, by bringing unwanted fire before the lord. in the next line god swiftly enacts his punishment and burns them alive instantly. it's supposed to be ryan and hunter, how, by committing acts of sodomy, they have brought a strange, unwanted deed before the lord and the community, and must be punished accordingly. this is the two fires, one to defile and one to reform.
