“I’m not exactly the type to run into burning buildings about to fall down to rescue some stranger’s baby or cat or something - but I’d do that for my friends. I guess that’s as heroic as I get. I’m a little wimpy.”

“I just love to make people laugh. People look so good when they laugh. It makes people happy.”

“I wanted to go be a hero with Scott and Cat.”

Ryan getting between a jerk who’s trying to get with a clearly uncomfortable girl and telling him to step off.

“Ryan Wells. I go by Ryan to most people.”
2. Do you have a nickname? What is it, and where did you get it?
“Now here’s a funny story. See, Scott and Cat usually call me Ry for short, and after they learned there’s a type of bread called rye bread, that’s what they call me. I also got Rhino because I have a tendency to rush in headfirst and they shout ‘Ry, no!’ a lot. It just eventually turned into Rhino.”

“I’m 5”3, which totally sucks, I hate being so short. Um. I think 170 pounds? I’m not exactly sure. I’m a little pudgy. Uh, blue eyes, red hair, freckles. Tons of burn and cut scars on my hands and fingers from cooking. I’d hope I look at least 18, since I am. Oh, and the backs of my legs have a million tiny scratches on them from my brothers throwing me into a thorn bush when I was six.”

“Jeans, t-shirt, and my work shoes. Of course I wear socks and underwear!”

“I never did until recently. Now I’ve got myself a slick suit.”

“My little hamster plush. It was the last thing my parents gave me before they died in a car crash.”

“My parents were great, but my brothers sucked. They hated me because I was the last one, the baby. My parents took care of all of us equally.”

“My dad’s name was Paul. He cooked every other night and taught me how to. He and Mom, together. Dad taught me how to clean and a lot about electricity and plumbing and the Internet. It’s how I got to be so good at that stuff. He loved to read and play card games. It’s all I remember...”

“Mom’s name was Danielle. She was pretty. Like, model pretty. She helped in teaching me to cook since I loved it so much. She also loved to read and knew squat about cleaning. She wasn’t very good at it. She liked to sew things, too.”

“They were very happy together. They stayed married until the day they died.”

“Jim, he was six years older than me. Garrett, four years older. The twins, Tony and Joey, three years older. Emmett, two years older. Then me. They were all pretty much jerks. Jim, Garrett, and Emmett were all the athletic footballer types. Wrestled me all the time. The twins were the studious, ‘holier-than-thou’ guys because they knew more than everyone.”

“The athletic bunch tied me up when I was seven and threw me in a bunch of bushes full of thorns. It took me ages to get out and I was all scratched up. The backs of my legs had it the worst. The worst thing I ever did to any of them was maybe punching them back when they started a fight, or ripping up one of the twins’ worksheets.”

“Mayish. I assume they’re still in the RV.”

1. What is your first memory?
“I think I was either four or five. I’d had a really bad nightmare, so my mom rocked me to sleep and sang the most beautiful lullaby. I can’t remember the words, but I remember her voice.”

“Definitely my Easy Bake Oven.”

“There was thing called a Tamagotchi. I had a couple and I loved playing with them. I also loved to play hide and seek with the other kids.”

“Not really. Just a bunch of faceless people who were someone else’s parents, or my teachers.”

“The big fight we had that was my fault. It led to our breakup.”

“I get along with everyone just fine. They’re all pretty friendly, except Charlie. He just sneers at everyone and never talks.”

“Cleaning the toilets. Ugh, they stink so much!”

“Save. I have way too much to pay for to be spending willy-nilly.”

“I like to play video games on the tablet when I can. I like to read occasionally. Mostly I hang out with Scott and Cat and Laila.”

“Uh. Jeff. He’s just a couple inches taller than me, really short blonde hair - military cut. He’s really funny - we exchange jokes a lot, even if he’s my boss.”

“Charlie. He’s just a jerk, always sneering and stuff. Insulting everyone. His insults aren’t even clever.”

“Not really. I just listen to whatever, whenever I can. Nothing specific, just to take my mind off things.”

“I’m constantly switching them out, but the last one in there was by One Direction, I think. It’s been in there since I bought it because I haven’t had the time to switch it out.”

“Well...I guess you’d say ‘I Will Not Bow’ by Breaking Benjamin. It’s my favorite song and basically talks about how he won’t let anyone control him. I hate being used or controlled.”

“I love the Disney movie Bolt. The animation on that is so weird! I love it.”

“Harry Potter. Done deal. Magic is beawesome.”

“Just a couple of cop chows these days. Nothing much is good anymore.”

“I don’t care because I’m too busy trying to actually survive.”

“Laila’s not a thing, she’s the most beautiful woman in the universe. Though if you really want a beautiful thing, sunsets.”

“I argued with Scott once about his stealing paper for drawing once. He eventually won.”

“I feel that people should stick to their word. They promise to do something, they should do it. Yeah, there can be extenuating circumstances, but they should try as hard as possible to keep their word.”

“Nothing. I have nobody to impress. Being fake is dumb.”

“Hardiness. To be able to go through a lot of crap and come out still the same person at the core...that’s amazing. I don’t find it very often.”

“Nothing should not be in media or art. Yeah, ratings should be there, but to restrict the public completely would be dumb.”

“Everybody’s got qualities that make them leader or follower in certain things. Scott’s terrible at cooking, but I’m great. I suck at leading a group of people, but Scott’s good at that. Certain things make you a leader, others, a follower.”

“Recycle and stuff like that. Someone’s got to help care for our world, need to help shoulder the burden, you know?”

“Yeah. It’s possible. Some people can’t be, others can. They have to prove themselves over and over to get the trust back, but it can happen.”

“Yes, even if I don’t want people knowing. About a year ago, when Cat had to tell me she wasn’t interested. I’m pretty thick-headed...”

“I'd go to the time when Jesus was alive. I’d love to meet him, no matter what you believe. He was still a guy that lived.”

“I’d probably use it to pay for culinary school.”
