it’s been a dramatic week in the villa…

after failing to make a romantic connection, camille became the first islander dumped from the island. not long after, another shock dumping saw finn and sophia sent home, reminding everyone that no one is safe in paradise. even in a couple. and unfortunately for some of them, progress has been complicated.

the villa’s biggest storyline continues to be the growing divide between hollis and chessa.

while the pair are still coupled up, they’ve spent much of the week being pulled in completely different directions. hollis has become increasingly interested in sirena, with the two sharing multiple late-night chats, choosing each other in challenges, and repeatedly finding excuses to spend time together. what started as harmless flirting has slowly become one of the most obvious attractions in the villa.

sirena, despite remaining coupled with kimj, hasn’t exactly hidden her interest either.

every challenge seems to bring them closer, and several islanders have begun questioning whether hollis and sirena are simply delaying the inevitable.

kimj has handled the situation surprisingly calmly, but even he has admitted that it’s difficult watching someone you’re coupled with consistently gravitate toward another person.

meanwhile, over on the other side of the villa, a completely different situation has been brewing.

what began as playful banter between chessa and sephira quickly developed into one of the strongest connections in the villa. during a challenge earlier in the week, the pair shared a kiss that immediately sent the villa into chaos. islanders screamed, producers definitely got the reaction shot they wanted, and social media had a field day.

afterward, the connection only intensified.

the girls spent days seeking each other out, sitting together during downtime, sharing private conversations around the villa, and openly admitting their attraction. several islanders even commented that they seemed more excited to talk to each other than they did their actual partners.

but things became noticeably more complicated as the week went on.

while neither girl hid their interest, production seemed determined to keep their options open. challenge prompts, dates, and villa conversations continuously pushed both chessa and sephira toward exploring connections elsewhere rather than fully settling into each other. by the end of the week, both girls were still pursuing other possibilities alongside their connection, creating an awkward situation where nobody seemed entirely sure what would happen next.

for nate, that uncertainty has been impossible to ignore. still coupled with sephira, he’s watched her connection with chessa develop while trying to decide whether he should continue investing in their relationship or start exploring elsewhere himself. so far he’s remained relatively patient, but the cracks are beginning to show.

and then there’s sara.

the season’s first bombshell arrived with confidence, stole a few islanders for dates, and immediately put everyone on edge. while she’s had success turning heads, finding a lasting connection has proven more difficult. as the only single islander in the villa, sara has spent much of the week trying to secure her position before the next shake-up arrives.

by the end of the week, the villa has become a mess of unfinished conversations, unresolved tension, and people wondering whether they’re actually with the person they want.

hollis can’t seem to stay away from sirena.

sirena keeps looking back toward hollis.

chessa and sephira have everyone talking.

nate is questioning where he stands.

sara is running out of time to find her person.

and just when it seems like things couldn’t get any more complicated…

this was such an bad idea. why did you after to this?

it was Hollis idea to go camping for a weekend. him, sirena, Roman, Sara. Nate couldn’t go everyone voted for Ryan to come but you.

you’ve all been planning this night for too long to cancel it.

so Ryan came, too.

not that he wants to go either. he takes his time getting his things and loading them in Hollis’s car early in the morning. you had a long drive up through Los Angeles, and you were running late, of course. he glowered at all of you mostly at Hollis and Roman then dropped into the seat beside you and shuts the car door.

he leaps out of the car as soon as it comes to a stop at the beach.

everyone chooses spots to set up their tents.

Sara and Roman would share one, Hollis and Sirena would share one you don’t know how that happened then, as far as you know, Ryan has his own tent, and you have yours.

Ryan’s tent is surprisingly smaller than everyone else’s, even your own. when Roman and Hollis see it, they hide their laughs behind their arms. when Ryan notices the difference, his shoulders slump. no one says anything. it’s light out, so everyone walks down to the water.

you’re all out there until late, after the noisy,drunk guys who’d been shouting for the last three hours, have gone to bed. you all trudge back to your tents, your feet covered in water and sand. you’re highly aware of Ryan behind you; his breath, his footsteps.

“uh oh,” Sirena says, and she turns around.

when you look at your tent, not only has it collapsed, but it has a huge hole in it.

everyone looks at you, waiting.

Sirena looks at Ryan then back at you.

then back at Ryan, who notices. for just a moment, you make eye contact. he ducks his head.

everyone knows, but no one wants to say it.

“it’s either that,” Sirena says, “or he sleeps with one of the guys.”

so it’s settled. Ryan and you would share a tent tonight. maybe tomorrow, you could buy a new one at a local store. neither of you guys say anything about it.

again, you’re surprised when Ryan doesn’t climb into the tent but instead stays out by the fire with everyone else. he doesn’t offer anything to the conversation, just sits there, scowling, with the golden fire light against his face.

Hollis and Sirena go to bed first. they seem all giggly and touchy as they leave. it’s even quieter than before. Sara states into the fire with wide,brown eyes. Roman is still eating s’mores, although everyone else had finished a while ago.

“i’m gonna go to bed,” you say.

Ryan looks up at you, and it’s then you realize you’d been staring at him. he gives you the most subtle nod.

“goodnight,” Sara says to your back.

“night,” Roman says, in a far off tone.

you slip out of your shoes, climb in, and zip it up so no bugs slip in. earlier, you’d taken your things out from your collapsed tent and set them inside on the right side of Ryan’s tent. your sleeping bags are touching.

since you’d been by the fire for over an hour, you’d gotten used to the warmth. now that you’re in the dark of your tent, under a tree, and you’ve pulled your socks off, the cold surrounds you. it chills you to the bone, making you shiver.

you lie on your side but whip your head up when the zipper flies upwards. Ryan climbs in, clumsily. you curl your legs up as he nearly collapses on top of you. he crawls onto his side. his skin scratches against his sleeping bag material. his foot bumps you as he gets under his cover.

he probably thinks he was smooth, and that you're fast asleep. thinking this, it keeps you awake even more, staring up at the pointed top of the tent. you'd never admit it out loud, but you're glad you don't have to sleep alone.

you shiver. "it's fucking freezing."

Ryan turns his head to you. thankfully, it's dark. "you're cold?"

"you're not?"

"What are you wearing?" he whispers.

you click your tongue.

"no, not like that," he says. "i mean, maybe you're not layered enough."

you roll onto your side so your back is to him. "i'm freezing even inside this stupid sleeping bag and under a blanket."

Ryan shifts behind you. a moment later, he drapes his blanket over your body. the gesture is soothing, like your sinking into a soft mattress. like, suddenly, the ground beneath you, which is barely cushioned under your sleeping bag, is flat and comfortable.

his scent fills your nose and rushes to your head like a shot of dopamine. it would be so easy to turn and curl yourself into his body.

"one thing that helps," he says, "is body heat."

the thought makes your body flutter.

"we're already in this tent together." your teeth chatter faster when you talk.

Ryan sounds perfectly content. and smug.

"seriously. how do you think humans used to stay warm when they lived in caves?"

"Ryan." you're struggling to breath and speak. "if you want to feel me up, just ask."

you can feel Ryan's smile as he rolls over and wraps his body around yours. instead of cringing, you melt into him. he is warm.

it's like dunking yourself in a hot cup of coffee. you shut your eyes and let your breathing steady.

"i'm warmer," you say.
