Ethnicity: Faunus/Vesnan (an ethnic minority in northwestern Anima) 

Handedness: Right outside of ambidextrous sword wielding 

Aura Color: Blue 

Weapon: Old Friends- pair of hook swords that combine into a hunting rifle

Fighting Style: Combat Hopak 

Semblance: Dog Tag- Creates an Aura glyph on a loved one that emotionally links them with Zirka. This two-way link sends signals about the other’s emotional and physical state. 

Personality: “Twin Size Mattress” by The Front Bottoms, compassionate, loyal, equates usefulness to others with her own self worth & sense of self, hardworking, emotionally driven, desires knowledge for knowledge’s sake, likes structure, humble. She has a general distrust towards huntsmen and huntresses,

Backstory: Grew up feeling like she was always on the outside looking help, not helped by the fact that she was a Faunus in a Human-majority village. When she was alone outside one night she was approached by a curious Beowolf. They became friends and Zirka named her Cherry. Zirka’s bond with Cherry caused her semblance to activate. When a pair of huntsman tried to kill Cherry, Zirka defended her, and they both had to leave the village. The pair was later found in the woods by Summer Rose, who reached out and offered them both a place where they’d be safe and accepted. Zirka took her hand, and Summer took the pair to Evernight. 

Relationships: 

Cherry- Cherry is her best friend. They very much treat each other as pack mates. They play, eat, and sleep together. They’re basically Hiccup and Toothless.

Cinder- Cinder didn’t know what to think of Zirka at first, but become intrigued after seeing her gentleness with Cherry. She approached them alone, asking if she could pet Cherry too. They soon bonded over their shared feelings of kinship with the Grimm (for them the Grimm were never monsters; they were protectors against the humans who had harmed them). Zirka has seen the rare colors of Cinder revealed when she’s not being a social chameleon, which not only makes her feel a deeper friendship, but also strengthens her desire to truly know Cinder. Cinder feels conflicted about her friendship with Zirka; one the one hand, she feels like Zirka is truly one of “her” people and she cradles their shared connection & understanding of the Grimm; but on the other, she struggles with connection and being intentionally vulnerable with others (she also wants more from her relationship with Zirka but absolutely has not figured out her intense crush lol). Before Cinder took off to jailbreak Watts, Zirka stopped her and used her semblance so that she would know if Cinder needed any help. One could say that Cinder is the Salem to Zirka’s Ozma.

Summer- Zirka greatly looks up to Summer; she was the one who extended her hand to help Zirka and Cherry and give them both a home. Summer sees in Zirka much of what she did in Cinder: a young person failed by society who found solace in the Grimm. Also Summer kind of really wishes that she was at the castle more if not for any other reason than to at least steer Zirka away from Tyrian’s influence lol. 

Salem- Similar to Tyrian, Zirka reveres Salem as the God of Animals; but unlike him, Zirka’s relationship to her is more like the Jewish view of & relationship to HaShem. Salem greatly appreciates this approach. Salem sees Zirka as her student, and is quite patient with her. 

Tyrian- Tyrian has become sort of a mentor figure to Zirka (not unlike Qrow and Ruby’s relationship). She was immediately drawn to him as the only other Faunus in Salem’s circle, and Tyrian was thrilled to pass down his knowledge of Faunus history & lore & theology to a young Faunus who had been denied that kind of upbringing due to growing up isolated from a larger Faunus community. They do clash ideologically, though; Zirka doesn’t share Tyrian’s desire for destruction, and Tyrian believes that . Despite this, it’s clear to the rest of Salem’s inner circle that Zirka is one of the few people whom Tyrian genuinely cares for and has an attachment to. 

Watts- As they are both Tyrian’s Favorite People, Zirka and Watts naturally end up hanging out. Zirka appreciates Watts’s straightforwardness and humor, along with his niche “cool middle-aged high school teacher who can be kind of acerbic but is actually really good at their job” energy. Watts appreciates Zirka’s humility and willingness to learn, something he wishes would rub off on Cinder. They both probably have the clearest understanding of Salem’s real goals right behind Summer. Zirka had her realization of “Oh, he genuinely cares about the rest of us” when she came back from a mission injured and tried to hide and then brush it off and Watts was like “No, sit down, we need to assess the damage immediately and make sure you’re okay”. 

Hazel- They don’t interact much, but Zirka appreciates Hazel’s calm energy and moral compass. In a way, Hazel feels a bittersweet melancholy watching Tyrian and Zirka’s bond, and has warned Tyrian not to fuck it up. 

Emerald & Mercury- It took a while for Emerald and Mercury to warm up to Zirka at first. Zirka likes to consider them friends, but she also recognizes the distance between them. She can tell that there’s an ideological disconnect between the pair and the rest of Salem’s faction and kind of knows that it’s only a matter of time until they both leave.

Team RWBY- Zirka possesses a general distrust + dislike for huntsmen and huntresses, both from growing up in the kingdom with the least reliable and because they hunt Grimm, but Zirka has nothing against Team RWBY or their friends personally.

Dating Weiss Schnee Headcanons:

At first, Weiss can come across and distant, but that’s due to her upbringing, and she has to learn how to better show her affection. Thankfully, you coming into her life made that a whole lot easier! When you first meet, she tries not let on how much she likes you, but her team is quick to sleuth it out

Afterwards, they encourage her to talk to you more and open up more. You start going on coffee dates to local shops around Vale, and eventually, you two start going to movies, to dinner, etc. Eventually, she finds the courage to ask you out officially after a later movie night. She’s over the moon when you return her feelings

From there, Weiss will subconsciously feel the need to spoil you. If you offhandedly say you need something, you can bet it’ll be in your hand by the next day. She loves showing you off to others, but can get jealous fairly easily. Though she tries her best to conceal it, it can sometimes come out, but you quickly reassure her she’s the only one for you

I got a ref for one of my RWBY S/I's! I have two, this one being Washington Schnee!

He's 21 years old and is a 4th year Atlas student. He has the family semblance and was originally next in line to inherit the Schnee company, but he was disowned by Jacques when he came out as trans. He found a new home, and after explaining the situation to General Ironwood, he helped him get on his feet and allowed him to keep studying at Atlas

Weiss was his best friend as they grew up, so ofc he went to the Vytal festival to see her again (he also got to see Winter, which was nice too)

It's there that he met Torchwick, Ozpin, Jaune, Pyrrha, Qrow, and several of Weiss' friends
