Night (North x Freelancer!Reader)
Beautiful darkness, the only light was the moonlight in the sky. North by your side with his arm around you. He pressed his lips on top of your head.
“It’s been a long time since we had a time of peace.” He mumbled, hugging you close to him.
“I’m tired of running, North. I’m tired of being scared.” You buried your face in the crook of his neck. You’ve been tired since Project Freelancer ended, tired of running away from everything that could kill you, The Meta, the UNSC authorities, even maybe South (since she never liked you). All that you wanted was to be in peace, just North and you together.
Even maybe settle down and start a civilian life when everything calmed down.
“I need to find her. She is my sister, even if we fought, but she is still my sister.” Of course, he needed to find her.
“I’ll go with you.”
“She never liked you.” North chuckled. “I need to go by my own this time, love.”
You rolled your eyes, leaning forward to kiss him softly and lovingly.
“Promise you’ll come back. You have to promise me we’ll see each other again.”
“I promise, (State Name).”
He had left that night with a goodbye kiss and that promise and never came back.
