I always wondered how events would've played out if the roles were reversed for DBU. If I'm correct, I recall Annie having some kind of dream of that happening, where she was the "Tiny", whilst Armin was the "Titan" in her eyes. It was small but interesting! - I say this, because I truly can see little Annie biting Armin on his fingers as a way to protect herself, to the point of him getting mittens to do anything, before getting comfortable.
Possibilities are many! Excited to see the next chapter for DBU, too! Take as long as you need, excited to read it!

Now... funnily enough, I have thought about this role swap too! And yes, you recall that right, Annie did have a dream like that. I'm glad you think it was interesting! But if the roles in The Difference Between Us were reversed, and Annie was the miniature one... being a measly 4 inches tall in size... I think she would have become quite distasteful of Titan's/humans as well. While Armin, as a "Titan" would be so enamored with and curious about Tiny's and their culture. So, once he discovers Annie, I think he would be extremely comforting towards her and more prepared for the encounter than what DBU has with Annie finding tiny Armin. However, in this reversed scenario, Armin will still find his finger getting nipped hard. Even after he assures Annie that he will do nothing to harm her... once false move and that's another bitten finger. I think Armin would consider mitts so his poor finger can stop bleeding whenever he attempts to pick up the toy sized girl, but for him it would be a way to develop trust in the long run... because if he does something to take away Annie's main method of possible 'defense' it might bring dread and helplessness to the poor Tiny. Due to that, I think Armin will keep his hands bare and gradually build his trust with this miniature and spunky girl, similarly to how things play out in DBU proper for the earlier chapters!
That way, Annie can find comfort and warmth in Armin's huge hands whenever he holds her minuscule body... so she feels safe T_T aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
The possibilities are many with a reversed scenario and I LOVE the idea, and this ask!! Thank you sm for it!! And yes yes of course!
