Rust trolls live in groups.

I noticed that the text mentioned that the Rust Trolls are returning to some kind of hive. So yes, they live in small groups, in colonies. For the same reason, Rusty Trolls cannot be alone. They are not adapted to life outside any group, these are not comfortable conditions for them

Newborn babies are light, cream in color and have wings. Only after passing through the molt do they become more similar to adults: they lose their wings and acquire a rusty color.

Looking at insects, or rather ants, I came to the conclusion that this difference between a young and an adult would be very useful for rusty trolls. When the little ones are unhappy, they buzz with their wings ;3

Rust trolls like to live in abandoned places. In abandoned castles, hospitals, landfills. Any place steeped in sorrow attracts them.

This is based on what we already know about rusty trolls. + fun fact: people can mistake them for ghosts. Especially the little ones!

There are not many rust trolls left.

At least not as much as before. All because of the people who are capturing more and more territories. The trolls occupied many places underground. And people return to old abandoned castles, remake them for themselves. People also get into caves, make sights of them, places for tourists.

Rust trolls love mushrooms

Like some species of ants and termites, rusty trolls grow mushrooms inside their homes. And yes of course they eat mushrooms.

Of course, the smallest mushroom will not kill them, but if they get into an area where there are a lot of these fungi and spores get on their scales, it is already dangerous. They might die because of it. No strange zombification as in "The Last of us", they are infected immediately leave the tribe so as not to infect it and find a place for the growth of the fungus.Not a super-scary epidemic, but it's an extremely unpleasant thing. As for the sensations, this is AGONY: mushrooms do not grow quickly, they grow through the head, it is very cruel, so the infected bites into something hard to distract from the confusing noise in the head. Or there is an easier way. The infected will attack the settlements alone. People or trolls do not matter, the main thing is to die as quickly as possible. The best option is to attack the traveling people when they set up camp and sit around the campfire. The oil released by rusty trolls burns well. So the agony will stop and the parasitic fungi will be burned out

Rust trolls can swim

I mean, they emit oil, so they can't sink logically, oil is lighter than water, it will push them out. Surface tension from the oil, and their wide body distribution [they flat] might mean they can displace enough water to skid across it like waterskater insects :3 Also, young rusty trolls poorly control their bodies. They can safely stay on the surface of the water and not sink, but they cannot controllably swim in the chosen direction. Like little sea otters.

Rust trolls don't quite roar; their roar is more like a buzzing sound.

Of course, for this they need other materials besides those in their body, but nevertheless this ability is very similar to a trait that would suit rust trolls.
