“Vivienne? What are you doing out here? It’s freezing!” Pavel rushed outside towards his friend, quickly taking off his coat and setting it on her shoulders. “Come inside, please.”

“Looking for you-” said Vivienne with a sharp inhale, fingers wrapping around the coat once it was wrapped around her shoulders. She didn’t think the walk would be that far, and she was hoping the sleet would hold off until she found Pavel. Even with the forecast saying it was coming, it didn’t do justice to the severity of the sleet. 

“You know, it’d be really great if everyone could just stop rooting for me to fail.”

“I’m not sure if everyone is doing that… but I suppose no one would say if they were, yes?”

“Right, they’re silently hoping I screw it all up. That’s much better. Thank you so much for that, Pavel.” Reg’s tone was rather uncharacteristically nasty -- but he caught himself with a sigh.

         "alright, alright.." Leonard soothes, shifting his shoulders back from Chekov so he can look down at him searchingly. The kid still looks torn with self-incrimination, and McCoy hates that there is so little he can do to ease that pain, ".....c'mon. I'll take you to their recovery-pod."

         The CMO waits for Pavel's hold on him to ease before he releases him in return, guiding the younger man out of the waiting area and into the intensive care unit of Med Bay. The bio beds in this section are thankfully empty, for the most part. Only Ensign Yuskel and one other enlisted crewmember are patients. Both appear to be asleep, naturally or otherwise.

“Is there a manual for this system?” Pavel pouted, folding his arms across his chest as he had to admit that this system was beyond even his comprehension. “There has to be something.”

Ash looked sheepish as she fiddled with the PADD she’s reformatted and fiddled with.

Pavel never had any need to walk by the Botany bay. It wasn’t really on the way to Medical, where he insisted on walking Joanna every morning after breakfast, but it was a change of direction that Pavel wanted to try. Along this new route towards the bridge, the young man could see someone near the Botany bay struggling to hold what looked like specimens and files in his arms. Rushing forward in case the other dropped anything important or precious, Pavel tried to offer some aid.

“That is a lot of stuff, do you need help?”

The junior lieutenant was just in time; as Chekov approached, one of Neville’s specimens toppled from his stack and plummeted towards the floor. “Ah!! Grab that, please, sir!!” Everything in his arms swayed dangerously, and he staggered to balance it against the nearest wall.

The rec room was supposed to be quiet around this time, but Isiah had insisted on playing the violin for Pavel, which was a kind gesture so the ensign was not going to refuse it. Relaxing on one of the couches, Pavel couldn’t help a smile as he listened to the other play.

“That was nice.”

Isiah had been getting better about playing in more public places, especially playing his violin, but it was still slightly nerve wracking, even if the rec room was pretty much empty other than them.
