Well that's because it might not actually be a German Shepherd! See the max weight of a male German Shepherd is 88lbs. "But he/she looks like a German Shepherd!" Very correct you are, but! Did you know that the German Shepherd has a Russian counterpart? They're called the Eastern European Shepherd and they get much larger than German Shepherds but look basically identical. The Eastern European Shepherd can weigh upwards of 130lbs.
See the Russians created the Eastern European Shepherd by mixing German Shepherds with Russian Shepherds to create a much larger, cold resistant dog that was less prone to health issues like the German Shepherd. They were bred for military purpose, watchdogs and (apparently) are stellar service dogs.
